Psalm 91:14-16
"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

((((KC))) that is a cool story; I like that verse too and have felt it to be one God has used to speak to me. Your story reminds me of years ago when I was going through a depression concerning my brother's death, mainly, and some other things. I was crying out to God just as you were (and crying) and I kept asking God why why?- with no response. So in frustration I said God I wish you would just-- send me a letter or something....and then I walked out into the kitchen and there on the table was a tract with the words "This is From Me" on the top of it! Inside were verses saying that whatever happens in your life, God allows it for his own purposes. I was totally awestruck-- I'd never seen it before and I had no idea how that tract came to be on my table although I asked everyone in the family if they knew where it came from. Even if it was buried in a drawer someplace it is uncanny that it appeared there on the table just as I prayed for a letter from God.

Here is a scripture concerning prayer I like:

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV) Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

I really like to read a lot of the Psalms. They are very nice to read when I'm feeling down or worried.

I read a lot of The Book of Psalms.
My favorite is Psalm 23:1
