I'm not going to be able to watch the Dove Awards tonight because of a dress rehearsal/choir rehearsal tonight. There are several Southern Gospel folks that are nominated for awards. If anyone has DirecTV, it will be on Channel 338 beginning at 8pm. IF you watch, will you post who wins in the various categories???

Bobby I can assure you I don't want some of that music either. Good old plain Southern Gospel for me too.[:D]

Glad you're home Donna. How was choir tonight? You can keep everyone up to date, think I'm gonna call it a night. Sure did want to see Karen Peck & New River sing but it's no telling when they will be on.

Hi, Bobby. Choir ran late tonight and I am very, very tired. Gotta be up at 4am tomorrow, so I'm heading to bed. I'll set the TV on the timer and I'll be zzzzzzzz before long! Hope KP&NR sing before I lose consciousness!!!

Thanks for posting about Chris Tomlin. I had a feeling he'd probably walk away with it!

Well, that was pretty sad. The very last song set of the night was the S. Gospel and then they just threw the groups together and had them sing an old song together. They were good... and at least Kim's voice is distinguished enough that I could pick her out... but it was still sad. I sat through the whole thing and then they barely did any SG stuff. Didn't even show any of the SG awards. [&o]

Yeah, I saw this, too. I was pretty aggrevated about it. They threw the Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River and Jeff/Sheri Easter all together. Each of them deserved some time on the program. Also, they threw the Issacs in with Charlie Daniels and I believe some other group. Clearly, the Dove Awards have very little interest in SG music.

Did anyone see what Mark Lowry won? In his time w/Sandi Patty introducing the Artist of the Year, he referred to something he had won.
