Fortunately for me, there were yellow warning flags popping up about that thing before the visit. My gut figured out that something was amiss so I was prepared.

Here's another suggestion. Don't post a picture of your car, your airplane, your jacuzzi, or anything to suggest that you're wealthy unless you're trying to attract a gold digger. I had a few guys send me pictures of their Mercedez or their boat and swimming pool. Very tacky in my opinion.

I like seeing pictures which display a lady's eyes and smile. I also like to see a lady put up pics of herself in everyday/casual clothes. If she's got children, I kind of enjoy seeing family shots. (Sans X's of course.)

Personally I hate personals sites. I guess it's because I don't have any luck. I post pictures of me being me. Rearely do I have pictures of just me. This is due to the fact that I don't have a camera and have my mug taken when I am with friends or whatever. The only girl in my pictures is my little angel. She is less than a year old so I believe it is pretty obvious she is my daughter. The only shirtless picture I have ever posted is of my tatoo on my back. I am very proud of it. As for the pictures I look for... real pictures of people bein themselves not none of this staged garbage. Call me shallow but yes I like to see full body shots so i have a good idea what the person looks like. Let's face it we should be at least a little attracted to the person we are looking to date. It is only fair to them.

perhaps people post pictures of their vehicles to show their style. some people don't wanna be seen riding around an old beater perhaps that's part of it too. i have a pic of my vehicle posted on my myspace because it shows i can still ahve style even while driving an suv.

I met a guy once offline. His picture made him look 5'8", around 30 years old, and a little stocky. When I met him he was shorter than me, grey hair, and not attractive at all. Needless to say I haven't been out with him since.

I guess I was wondering if women liked seeing pics of guys doing some type of activity...hiking, biking, rock climbing, playing football, etc... Do they like to see a "Wild At Heart" kinda guy...one who tries to show he is active and adventurous? Maybe even standing in front of a crowd preaching or something... Where would you say it crosses the line of being a good representation of who you are and being arrogant and unattractive? (I guess arrogant pics can represent who you really are.[sm=cooltilt.gif])

I like to see pics of guys doing what they like to do. There is a line to be drawn though and it varies depending on who is looking at them. You can't please everybody so the best bet is to put up lots of pictures.

My pics show all those things because I do those things, and I'd like to attract someone who I share common interest with. For me, arrogance is always a sign of insecurity. It's a way to say, look at me, I'm all that and better than the rest of the guys out there. You can see more of the arrogance come out through the written profile than through pictures though.

(I guess arrogant pics can represent who you really are.[sm=cooltilt.gif]) i like to see pics of men doing things they enjoy. doesn't matter if it's vacation pics, sports, on motorcycle, boat, whatever. gives you a glimpse into their "real" life....not just what they put down "on paper." one note...i personally never posted pics of my kids. too many bad stories of people tracking you down cuz they're really only after the young ones. maybe that's more a 'mama' issue. doubt guys have to worry about that as much. just one more thing women have to be careful about when dating that men don't.

I don't like to see pics of guys with their shirts off (unless it involves watersports). To me, it seems like they're saying they're hot, they know it, and they want you to know it. It seems conceited to me and that's a turn-off. I also look at the picture's background. If there's beer on the table...forget it. Cigarettes...forget it. I do like a clear shot of the face and an overall photo. Multiple pics are great because you do get a better idea about how they look and what they like to do. I don't mind pics of friends as long they identify which one they are in the pic. As far as what they say in their text, don't be so short and generic. So many of the profiles sound so much alike. 'Course, it's been a while since I did the online dating thing so things might have changed a bit...but I seriously doubt it.

The response has been so mediocre that I haven't even checked it in weeks I figure everyone must think I'm just too good for them or something.[:D] (Ouch, stop kicking me, Ouch. OK OK I'll fix it.) My Overwhelming Humility demands that I state that I'm just a homely guy and my writing must be on at most a third grade level. God must be planning to bring me my wife from a different direction.

If it's a good picture, definitely leave it up. If your profile description is well written and states exactlly who you are and what you're looking for, then I wouldn't change it. I can't speak for everyone, but I can appreciate someone putting all the cards on the table so to speak. I want to know who they are, what they stand for, and what they are looking for in a potential mate. I also want to know what they're interested in and if they have a sense of humor. I want to get a good idea of the real them. As for me, what you see is what you get and I can appreciate the same in return. If you're not getting a lot of responses, don't be discouraged. It may be that the right person has not come across your profile yet. Or perhaps that's not where you're intended to meet your match. Humility is good - God is all about humility. I know what you mean about being a homely person. I am too. I have a lot of interests and can easily keep myself busy at home. I've never been one that has been passionate about traveling the world like so many profiles I've seen (never heard of Christian Cafe, but the profiles on yahoo and match). I'm happy with staying close to home.
