Lord, I pray for all the elderly/senior people in my church Lord. They are such sweet, loving, precious people Lord, every sunday I get to see their sweet faces at church and they are always
so sweet and I love the hugs they give, when I see them in church. I pray for them Lord that they continue to be blessed and for all those who are alone, that they continue to lean on you Lord!

AMEN

Father, I come to You in Jesus' name; and ask that You bless the feeble bodies of the elderly, with strength today. Encourage their efforts, with hope from above, and enlighten their spirits with a touch from the Holy Spirit. Give them the desires of their hearts, Lord Jesus! Praying that their biggest desire is to bring more glory to You! Thank you, for allowing us to learn from these wonderful 'wisdom banks'! Please, keep them safe and near to You, is my prayer.

I ask it all in the name above every name, the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; the Son of the true and the living God! Amen.

Father, I come to You in Jesus' name; and ask the 'Almighty Ancient of Days', for a clear mind to be given, in the lives of the elderly today! Drive away confusion and disillusionment from their minds, and give to them a day of clear thinking and understanding, I pray. Even if this takes place during their sleeping hours; please grant to all the elderly, this day, a peaceful mind of rest. Cause them not to worry, over not being able to recall memories or names or faces they use to know so well. Lighten their burden of independence and grant them a day to feel joyful!

I ask it all in the name above every name, the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; the Son of the true and the living God! Amen.

Yes Father.

Bring them to mind to they're loved ones and friends also Father, and help them to have visits, and a touch of human kindness from all those around them. Most of all, bless them with a close relationship with You. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

zondie -> RE: Prayer for the Elderly (5/25/2008 11:23:46 PM)

Father, I come to You in Jesus' name; pleading for your tender mercy to be shown to all the elderly. As they look at their feeble, shaking and wrinkled hands today, let it be a reminder of all the labor of love, they have shown toward You and to others. As they fold those precious hands in prayer, will you please meet their requests as only 'You' can? May they feel the presence of Your loving angels around them, and be comforted in 'knowing' they have a loving Father who cares for their every need.

I ask it all in the name above every name, the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; the Son of the true and the living God! Amen.

Father, I come to You in Jesus' name; with all of the elderly on my heart. Please lift any burden that they may be carrying, Lord. Delight them in Your love and holiness today. Return to them, the joy of knowing who You are! Rekindle, the flame of Your Spirit; in all these precious souls, I pray.

selahgirl -> RE: Prayer for the Elderly (5/30/2008 11:08:29 AM)

Father, we agree together for the elderly, those facing retirement. Bring peace to their heart. If they are concerned about finances, assure them that you will provide all, your people will not be found begging for bread. If they are feeling as though they are no longer needed or loved or wanted, let them see the plans that you have for them to continue on with purpose and blessing. Open doors for them to enjoy this time of rest and refreshing, yet at the same time... lead them to a fresh and powerful area of ministry and service and productivity. Surround them with Godly voices, True and Right voices, that will help them to see themselves as beautiful and remaining full of potential.

Touch their bodies and bring health and healing. Pour Faith and Strength into every area of their being and their lives. There are things that we deal with as we age, just as there were things we dealt with in our youth. But life has a beauty with every breath we breathe, whether we are just starting a journey or still laboring on the road. We have looked to the end, to the goal, to the promises, since we started this walk, much has been gained but little has changed -- our focus remains to be with Christ some day at the end of this thing. When and how it is fulfilled is beyond us, just like the gray hair that has crept over our head like a crown (according to Scripture). But we can know that God has good things planned for us even in our older age. We can be sure of that Truth.

Bless the elderly Father, and let them be a blessing to others, every day. Send people across their path that appreciate their wisdom, people who are blessed and helped by it. Cause the elderly to rejoice that they have served you and pleased you in the big and in the small. Let the enemy not cause them to dwell on past regrets or brief failures, but let your Spirit bring to their remembrance every good work that you have allowed them to participate in, that their commitment and sacrifice and devotion has played a part in. Cause them to be awed by your presence and your grace that remains with them in their latter days, and let them rejoice as never before. Thank you Father. Thank you for our elderly family members, send people to be your arms and hug them today in every way, in conversations, in physical embrace, in opportunities to serve others, in words of affirmation and appreciation for who they are, in opportunities for others to serve them, so that the love of Christ can be reflected in the receiving of ministry as well as in the giving. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord Jesus, when I think of the elderly I am reminded of Moses, Abraham, Sarah and others that you greatly used in their old age. I praise you that You don't forget the elderly, and your eyes are ever overseeing them.

Lord, I lift them up unto you. Give them grace when they are down, lift them up and set them on high places...and, O Lord, when their final day on earth has come, send your best angels to take them home.
