ORIGINAL: nicole6598 my pastor has just invited people in our church to come along and watch it every night at church and participate in the "revival". I don't know what to think about it and what to say about it as I don't agree with some of the people associated. What would you do or say? My husband is on the church board and thinks I am making too much of this. This "revival" is taking place right down the road from where I live. I've had friends go to it. One who I warned sternly (he invited dh to go, first I'd heard of it; I did some reading and said NO WAY!); he came back a little underwhelmed. I've brougt this to my Pastor's attention. I was a little concerned that he didn't even seem to know it was going on, especially with people in his congregation going to it. He's had a lot on his plate, I guess. But I, for one, made it clear that I will not stay in a church that invites this nonsense (I consider some of what Bentley is doing downright demonic...Angel Emma, for example). My dh knows I'll up and walk out. I don't think it'll come to that but I'm prepared to have a very open discusion with anyone who tries to bring this in. I think you need to do some research and go at it with more than just your gut. The recent article by J.Lee Grady in Charisma is a good place to start if you need something even and objective to share with your dh and Pastor. Not to stir up trouble but, If it were me, and this were about to be shown in my church, I'd email that article and maybe a few other links to anyone and everyone I had an email address for and ask them to at least pray first and be wary and judge everything against scripture. Like I said, when my friend went, he was not impressed, which was a huge relief! But in a room with a lot of other people you know, having been referred to this by your own (uninformed) Pastor, I can imagine judgement would be impaired, in a way, if you didn't go into it on your toes.
