If Barak gets the nomination do you think McCain will bring enough on his side to win or will we have another super close election?

It depends on whether or not McCain tries to win his own party. His mistake right now is that he is pandering too much to Independents and Democrats.

With his denouncement of the NC GOP ad and his criticism of the Republican party he just angered a lot of people who were on the fence about voting for him and now have just been pushed off on the wrong side.

Even Rush Limbaugh is against him now. He announced on his show today that he is changing the focus of Operation Chaos from the Dems to McCain. Don't know how much of an effect, if any, that will have but it sure doesn't help.

Rush is going to be against McCain?? Does he realize that it will just help get a liberal democrat elected?

Mccain should've denounced that ad, at least he gots sense.

I only caught the last hour of his show today so I didn't hear what he was planning but he was upset at McCain speaking out against the Republicans.

I don't know how "Operation Chaos" could be used against McCain though since all it really does is get Republicans to switch parties during the primaries to vote for Hillary.

Also, this may just be a ploy of Rush's. He has said before that it would probably hurt McCain if he were to ever come out and openly support him.

Guess I'll have to wait until Monday to see what is going on.

I stand with Mc Cain in this:
McCain Says He'll Bring "Every Pressure To Bear" To Stop Obama/Wright Ad -- But It's Still Set To Run
John McCain promised at a town-hall meeting today that he would bring "every pressure to bear" to stop the North Carolina GOP from running that ad hitting Obama over his controversial pastor, an issue that McCain said wasn't a legit one.

The North Carolina GOP's spot has McCain in something of a jam. He has come out and condemned the ad and said he doesn't want it to air, but he's now taking hits from Democrats who are demanding that he do more as the GOP's standard bearer to stop it from running. And if he can't get that done he risks looking weak.

Mc Cain is running for President; Not NC; and he should be the one to approve or disapprove of any GOP ad's to be aired. If the Democrats want to play dirty ball with each other, let them; we, the supporters under Mc Cain, want a higher standard.

I think it will be a super close election no matter which one gets the nomination.

The problem here is the the ad running in N.C. is for their state's governor election. Two Democrat candidates for governor support Barack Obama, so the state's Republican Party are using the video of Barack's pastor to insinuate that since they back Obama, they support the statements of his pastor.

In my opinion that is a huge stretch but the point is, this is a state issue and has nothing to do with the presidential election. McCain, even though he is the Republican nominee, is still just a senator and has no control over what happens at the state level, nor should he.

Now the Democrats know that McCain doesn't have the power to pull the ad but they are trying to show that he can't lead since he can't get his own party to submit to his will. I think this is an act of desperation on the Democrats and they are just grasping at straws trying to hurt McCain. "The age thing isn't working so let's try this!" Weak!

McCain is not the kind of republican the Limbaugh's and Hannity's love. First of all, McCain's not kissing up to these two blowhards as if they actually controlled his destiny. I listened to Hannity and Limbaugh today and both are livid with him denouncing the NC ad about Pastor Wright. McCain believes he can show he's the superior candidate based on issues and issues alone. Problem is, we live in a "Jerry Springer" society. Issues are two difficult for the average Springer fan to comprehend. But here comes this ranting preacher and here comes Sean Hannity, EVERY night, reminding everybody that Obama was in the pews for 20 years. What are white peoples biggest fears about Obama? That he hates them (confirmed by Wright, since Wright hates white people, Obama must hate them too), and that he's a terrorist. The "unrepentent terrorist" Bill Ayers, as Sean Hannity says, is "friendly' with Obama, which means they're best friends which means they're joined at the hip and therefore think exactly the same. BTW, Hannity makes it a point to say Ayers said on 9/11/01 that he "didn't do enough", but that's not true. Actually that interview where Ayers said that occured before 9/11, but the New York Times chose to run the interview on that fateful day. Hey, but let's not confuse the Springer crowd with facts. Obama hates white people, he's got a Muslim name, he hates America, he's friends with a terrorist: Conclusion? He's gonna blow up white people in the name of Allah. But first, based on the statement he made about people being bitter, he's gonna take all their guns.
The Springer crowd gets it. McCain doesn't

Yeah I know what you mean about Hannity. He seems to go over the same thing over and over. It drives me nuts. My husband seems to like him though. I have to suffer listening to the same thing over and over the whole way home! We live an hour from Springfield which is where we usually go! At least Laura Ingram is funny Hannity gets annoying!

McCain had better start to get it. I sure hope he does not sit back and think his war record will get him elected.

The democrats running in that election should show a ad of Mccain renouncing it.

If it's just a state election then beat the Dems on those merits, you bring the feds(presidental candidate) in, then get mad when a fed(presidential candidate) says something, that's kinda of backwards.

Good for McCain. Rush, Hanity and the rest of the wind bags would be sorely disappointed if we had two candidates who refuse to play their gutter ball politics.

I think his denouncing the ad only makes him look good. People hate negative campaigns, so denouncing it makes him look like he is above such things. Speaking out against his own party also reinforces the idea that he's an independent thinker (and many other big national Republicans have denounced it, so it's not just McCain).

Plus the ad itself is such an absurd stretch that any republican should be embarassed that their own party is running it.

As Mc Cain said, 'hitting Obama over his controversial pastor, wasn't a legit one [issue].'
I Agree; any and all republicans should be embarrassed that their own party; state GOP or otherwise; would run it. I know it embarrasses me just hearing about these type campaign tactics.

IMO if McCain panders to the religious right in order to win over "conservatives" he will absolutely lose the moderate democrats and independants. McCain's appeal to moderates is his ability to work across party lines to get the job done. If he's seen as a "McBush" candidate that will simply "stay the course" we might as well get used to saying "President Obama" or "Madam President". [8D]

IMHO, Mc Cain is Not pandering to anyone; conservatives, moderate, or independents; which is why he told the N.C. GOP Not to run the ad and why --- it wasn't a legit issue. Maybe the N.C. GOP needs to learn that it's important to work within the party "to get the job done."

"Operation Chaos" is just another in a long list of self-absorbed Limbaugh stunts intended to make it seem he has an actual impact on American politics.

Did some PA voters switch to a Democratic ticket to bog down the nomination process? Probably.

Did it have any measurable impact on the final outcome? I'd sooner believe in Santa Claus.
