The world drains me. With it's liberalism, compromising attitudes, etc, etc, etc. Each of us could easily finish the list of "issues" facing our contemporary society and plagueing the thoughts and desires of our people.

It is often with weary spirit I approach the Throne of Grace for renewing and the Lord is always there for me.

"There is a place to which all of us dream, it is in the home of the Living God at his feet."

quote:

Who do you say that the Son of Man is?

Jesus Christ the Lord. Also known as the Son of God

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Hallelujah![sm=angelhalo.gif]

HEAT. We don't have central AC so when it is hot outside it is boiling inside. It is very draining.[&o]

I can understand the other comments though, and at one time I would have agreed with some of you. Then I learned how to focus on God and when you do, none of that will faze you and you could laugh it off.

You learn to let God take your hand and guide you.[:D]

My biggest energy drainer is my own forgetfulness. . . as in forgetfulness of God, Who He is, what He has done, what He is doing, His faithfulness, His grace and mercy to me, and on and on and on.

I need to remember the words of Adoniram Judson. There was little in his outward circumstances to encourage him. But when others asked what promise of ultimate success he had, he responded:
"As much as there is an almighty and faithful God who will perform His promises, and no more."

What TRIES to drain my energy are people who are non-believers and feel it is their job to teach me the "error in my thinking." They seem so intent on proving my beliefs wrong. I can start to feel the energy drain out of me.

But then I become strong again, quickly, because my faith is strong. I, too, have my armor on and cannot be swayed by these people. I pray for renewed strength, and I get it. Their empty words then bounce off me. I then pray that my words, or rather, the Word of the Lord, spoken through me, may plant a seed in them, to one day grow.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Mopping the floors?

Seriously, manipulative people and energy leeches. I have learned to stay clear and that I can't be everything to everyone.

Also, overpowering people who think they know it all. I feel badly for all of the people I acted the same way towards! I thought I was all that and a bag of chips!!!

Praise God for showing me my weaknesses!!![:)]

Amen Jbird!

Then you must try not to get frustrated but keep hoping for them in love.

Yes, watching helplessly as my kids make the same mistakes over and over again as their lives seem to get tougher and tougher. I try to just turn it over to God but once a mother, always a mother. It's not easy to watch this. I've told them, 'the legal definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result'. I haven't heard that *click* yet. [:(]

1. Judgemental "sinless" christians.

2. The people in my small group bible study who think the closing prayer is their chance to pontificate and sermonize.

3. My own repreated imperfections. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

4. Repeated topics in chat...when I already won the arguement....[;)]

5. My humor being misunderstood.

Trying to do things in my own strength without first praying about things. Strange thing is (or maybe it's not so strange) - when I take time to pray things don't seem to take as long and usually there are less problems than when I don't pray!

The lack of reality in our country...

Fluffy sermons full of nice stories but lacking in life-changing truth...

TV..movies..etc...full of themes which fail to improve one's life...

A congress which is devoted to violating common sense and logic and integrity....

A society which rewards Hollywood stars and shuns noble professions...(teacher, day care worker, etc.). When the stars of the cartoon show "The Simpsons" make $400k per episode while day care workers make unlivable wages...something is terribly wrong...

A society which rewards professional athletes..regardless of their lifestyle...

Just to name a few...

I know what you mean. I listened to a well-known preacher on TV recently and couldn't believe that they didn't mention one single Scripture during the whole 30 minutes of their broadcast. I thought perhaps if I listen to the end he will surely speak God's Word but I waited and I waited and he did not. This same preacher has a massive congregation who seem to like/enjoy 'feel good stories' but sadly feel good stories just don't cut it when tribulation comes. You cannot build your house on the sand and hope it will remain standing when the storms comes along! So many are building their lives on the sand (in this case 'stories') and not the rock of God's Word and what they don't realise is that all these Sunday services will have been a waste of time and energy when they face any real trial and difficulty.

People complaining about the "evil" oil companies and then opposing drilling ANYWHERE for our own oil.

People complaining about the "evil" drug companies making a profit not knowing the millions of dollars spent in drugs not passing clinical tests.

In short, people who feel rather than think rationally.

Right on colliefan. Looking at at one issue but not logically considering the causes and effects.
