Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with Richard Dean Anderson and a very very young River Phoenix. I also think there was another guy who became really popular, too. Drake Hogestyn from Days of Our Lives Some shows I recall that were from the 70s... SWAT The High Chapparal (ok, it began in 67, but I recall watching it in the 70s) BJ and the Bear The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo I remember staying up late on Saturday nights and watching so many great (and corny!) horror movies on Creature Features with Bob Wilkins :)

ORIGINAL: DenimDiva Oh, I agree, the theme songs back then were much better! Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale.... Here's the story of a lovely lady.... C'mon get happy..... .....I'm living on the air in Cincinnati.... .....Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.... Even if I didn't like the shows, I usually liked the theme song. Now that was good stuff! quote:
ORIGINAL: bzirk BTW, Clint Holmes is a staple in Vegas, and he does put on a very good show. Here's a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2anpvvKyg0&NR=1 Vegas eh? I read an article about how Playground In My Mind became a hit. The follow-up to that song and the flip-side to "memory lane" version of the 45 featured a song called "'Shiddle-ee-Dee" which was a favorite in my family while growing up also. Other things that I remember about the seventies, these games: Rock em Sock 'Em Robots! Don't Break The Ice! Cootie! Also, TV shows: BJ & The Bear! Mork and Mindy Welcome Back Kotter!

And while we are at it, here is a great performance by Debby Boone with the #1 song of the seventies You Light Up My Life.

But the only time I ever used it, the pan caught on fire. edit: That may be one reason I don't use microwave popcorn very often. I still cook my popcorn in a pan on top of the stove. Some of my kids' friends are freaked out when they see me cooking it.

I laughed when the pan caught on fire, and my mother about had a cow. We never bought it again, so I just never got in the habit of even thinking about it. BTW, my favorite popcorn is black jewel -- I just can't buy it where I live. back to topic.

My mom always cooked popcorn on the stove. I couldn't get her to buy Jiffy Pop even though I tried. She didn't seem to think it was worth the extra cost, even though it looked very cool to me.

I think all of us had every scene and every line of Smokey and the Bandit memorized.

Oh, and he had a pair of white patent leather loafers. Thank heaven he never wore them with the leisure suit. ROFLOL! My country cousins were the ones wearing the white shoes with matching white belts. Good grits-n-gravy but they was tacky....
