I saw part I of the Bill Moyers interview video on-line. It has me persuaded that Wright is a man of God who is preaching what God wants him to preach, but his words are being distorted by a dull-minded and spiritually blinded media and group of nominal or immature Christians.
No government can take the place of God, and God will damn a nation for its sins in his righteous anger and justice.
The flip side of the coin is that Jesus died for the sins of the world and took that damnation upon Himself so that we could live a life in God's grace and mercy, enjoying the benefits of His love even though we could never deserve it.
America is no more holy of a nation than any other, but in America we have a lot of salt and light - the body of Christ living here. There are many people interceding for the USA, and God is doing great things here and blessing us, in spite of His pronouncement that we are damned for evil deeds.
Christ is the hope of the nations. The USA is not. The same hope we have in Christ is the hope that the rest of the world has, and the USA is in a great position to be senders and goers taking the Gospel throughout the world.

One neat thing about Barack Obama is that he is as much a white man as he is a black man. His mother is white and his father is black. It's hard to be racist against blacks or whites when you are both yourself.

This immature Christian doesn't get the Christ-like virtue of spreading nasty lies about people and dividing them along racial lines. Perhaps a wise one like youself could share with us the value of telling blacks that a predominantly white government invented AIDS to kill them.

I would disagree, I was a racist for along, long time, my mother is white, my father black. Here in america, it's the one drop rule.... so I consider myself black in color, in culture, according to the rules.

I dont think his words are being distorted in the least bit. They are what they are. His message is very clear and it is not a message of hope.

Given what Mr. Wright has said in the name of God I honestly feel sorry for the man... I wouldn't want to answer for what he has done.... He should shut his mouth and enjoy his reward he's found on earth in the name of God and consider himself blessed God hasn't taken him out where he stands...

What Mr. Wright pitches is hate, I am not catching that. Your right, Blacks do not have the monopoly on being poor and oppressed. When I do go back to La. I see white people eating in "black" restarants all the time. It's nothing strange there. These are southern dishes. Not exclusive to blacks.
Here where I live, it is considered black food. Like lutefisk is considered "white"

My husband from NC, favorite food. He worked the tabbaco fields at 10, got addicted to nicotine form it. Only gave up his dip a little over a year ago, he gave up smokes 1o years ago. Not my favorite foods, but hey, grits, collards, NC BBQ so nasty, he loves.

My aunt said she's not voting for Obama. I've said countless times neither am I. Just because I don't join in the hatefest doesn't mean I support the man for president. I guess that's the standard here. If you don't demonize, villify, spew venom and express fear and animosity toward Obama, or if you criticize those that do, you must be a closet supporter of him. I wonder what exactly is the agenda here? When is enough enough? Obviously not yet, huh?

OP-
I just found out that Wright is pro-choice,  a pastor? That was surprising.
This man is not of G-D, at least not right now. It's a shame to me that this what people think are Black Churches and that he speaks for all of us.

No I realize he does not, my favorite person of all times was the late pastor EV Hill. I loved him so much, and morned at his passing. Tony Evans is a good and Godly man. We have white fruit cakes, and I hope people do not see us all as frootloops. Wright and Obama ar neither walking in the ways of the Lord. That does not mean all blacks, or most blacks do not. I said before I love black churches, and had tow AA angles visit me, a long story. As far as pork, my husband endorses pig pickins. yuck, the carcus and pulling meat off, seeing its face. I just found out that Wright is pro-choice, a pastor? That was surprising.
This man is not of G-D, at least not right now. It's a shame to me that this what people think are Black Churches and that he speaks for all of us.
