Ez-praying for you. Sorry about the deployment news too.

Yes Amy, it was quite the shock when the door came away from the wall and half the frame with it.

Lisa,
Let us know how it goes.

When do you all have the chat in the chat room in the evening/night? What day, what time?

It's Tuesday evenings. I'm not sure of the exact times, we tend to just keep talking.

Hi everyone, I am back home now. I am exhausted! Noah is, too... but the 3 children I brought with to see my grandma did excellent!!!!! They really did great going back and forth to motel and hospital.

I got a little overwhelmed today because I had my unpacking to do... came home to a house that wasn't company ready, but yet, I was expecting company today! Timing worked out perfect though... I was able to get the house mostly cleaned up, get unpacked, get most of the laundry caught up and get groceries so I could feed our company some lunch!

I've been taking Benadryl today to help with a plugged ear. It got plugged right after my cold and now it has been 8-9 days being plugged. It is annoying! I'm nursing Noah still and I never did call to see if Benadryl is okay for him, does anyone know? Has anyone ever had a plugged ear? I have never had one, other than from swimming as a child or high altitude. So this is new to me.

Benadryl is fine during pregnancy and nursing, especially at his age. I have ear issues often...have been told that my ear canals look like a 2 year old's, not an adult's.

One thing that sometimes works for me is Excedrin Migraine...something about it opens up the blood vessels and allows things to drain better or something. You can also mix hydrogen peroxide with some water (I think a 50/50 mix) and irrigate your ears with a medicine syringe. If there is a wax build-up, this will clear it out, but you might have to do it a few times.

For a clogged ear I was told that eating frozen orange or cranberry juice (slushy) would help relieve congestion.

We're down to three babies. Not sure what happened to the fourth baby bird. I suspect it was the one that fell out of the nest. Bummer... But, the remaining babies are growing fast! I swear they've doubled in size in less than a week. They have pin feathers on their wings that are about to come through. It's not uncommon to walk by and see three open beaks poking over the top of the nest.

I am loving my new haircut.

this girl shows up at our house to drop off a rent payment to our house. AS wasn't here so she had to come back later. I was asking AS if she got paid, and told her about how she acted so blonde even for someone half my age. AS then looked at me surprised and said, "She was talking to you? I thought she somehow talked to Sarah (even though it didn't make sense) because the girl told how she talked to 'that little girl' when she was here the first time.' " AS had such a good laugh about that. Like I said, this girl must have been half my age and she called ME "That little girl"!

I am so keeping this haircut! LOL!

See, Lisa, I told you that we moms don't really get older! You need to post a pic of your new self.

I did end up having small group. It was fun. We learned that a friend of our host's is moving to Texas to help start up a horseback ministry there - it's an offshoot of Miracle Mountain Ranch - and does not have good tires on her truck. Funny thing is, we picked up 4 tires for the horse trailer a few months back, and it turned out we didn't need them. Those tires will fit her truck. Amazing coincidence, isn't it?

Narnia, at least your shower door didn't wait till you were all wet and soapy! Hope it's an easy fix.

Jesse's head has pretty much cleared out to the just drippy stage, but now his eczema has flared up. His feet are raw and bleeding. He had to skip tae kwon do class tonight lest he bleed all over the mat. I am making up a batch of salve for him and then I will park him in bed with a stack of Boxcar Children books and guinea pigs in close proximity. What more could he want?

Speaking of piggies, the new addition is a girl and her name is Demi. I am not sure why her name is Demi, and I was kind of afraid to ask.

I went to chat, but my computer screen went blank and I had to hard shut it down. I think I typed some wrong keys, as it happened while I was typing and I know I made some sort of typing error. Apparently it was so bad my computer couldn't even stand it.

Zoe and I wondered what happened to you. You were there one minute and the next... BAM you were gone.

Cindy, hope Jesse is doing better.
Ds went to Cap last night.
There are homeschooled kids there.
I don't know if I like the idea of him going to learn to fly and hanging around real bombs and stuff. Running out of time on pc.

Here is what I tried so far for my ear, but I just don't know how LONG I should try certain things.

Yesterday I took two seperate dosages of 1 pill of Benadryl, then 2 Benadryls before bed.. no luck, should I keep taking it? Or should I take 2 pills at a time for a while? I just hate being tired!!

I tried my husbands contact solution, tried it a couple of times.

I tried chewing gum

I tried a generic NyQuil, and a Day Quil.

I don't have any orange juice or crandberry juice or hydrogen peroxide, but maybe I'll have to go do the store and get those things. Someone told me to cut a potato and sleep on it... so I guess I have that option, too!

I get clogged ears when I get colds or sinus infections and the best remedy I have found is to just wait for it to go away. It rarely takes longer then a week.

Stressed here, too... But it's my own doing.

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!

Ds4 just finished the final test of the Iowa Basics. We did cognative testing this year. Never have done it in the past. I must have ordered the wrong test. But, after a week of "hard" testing, the kids enjoyed the "games" portion. Ds4 still can't use his hand, so I had to fill in the bubbles for him. He was getting 'em all right!

Okay, I can no longer take Benadryl, I am so tired and crabby at my kids that it is pathetic. I don't deal with tiredness very well. I get overwhelmed, stressed, crabby, and guilty for not getting things accomplished. My ear is driving me nuts, seems like when I take the cold medicince it just feels more plugged and sounds are more muffled. Taking the benadryl just makes me feel "sick" when I didn't feel sick.

Maybe you need a wax removal kit? Here is something not to try if someone recommends it. They are called ear candles. Dh actually used one!! Ya just light one end of it, put the other end in your ear and it's supposed to pull the wax out!!! They didn't work!!!
Praying for everyone who needs prayer!

More on the CAP meeting.. well, Ds seems like he liked it. Back to my earlier post about not wanting him to do stuff. It's hard to realize that he is almost 15 and will be 18 in 3 years. It's kind of hard to realize that the youngest kid is growing up and he needs to start making his own decisions about his life. Pray that we make the right decisions on what to allow him to do and that CAP is the right choice for him. I hope that makes sense.

He wants to go to an encampment in July. It's on an active Air Force base. Well, I guess he will be well supervised, right? He has to do one encampment before he can do other things like "learning to fly a plane in 10 days?" he will have to wait until next summer to do that, though. I am still wondering if I heard the co-leader right? Anyhow, the co-leader homeschools 5 kids and pray for her and her Dh. He has bone marrow cancer. It's really sad.

Ds came home from school and I think he wants to just quit right now. I told him he only had 4 more weeks or so to go. They get out the 6th of June. He said the kids at school are driving him crazy. I wonder if it has something to do with being with the kids that are homeschooled yesterday. I'm just thinking that he is really missing homeschool.
Hope that makes sense?
