Hi Joey! About the venison thing, thats all we used to eat around my house other than chicken and the occasional steak. Population of the deer have really went down, so my parents are trying to let it repopulate itself.

some more useless info for the board is

if the dna in all your cells were laid out in a single strand, it would stretch from the earth to the moon more than 246,000 times.

on 6-sided dice, the opposite sides always add up to 7.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Soldier Land (5/18/2008 9:47:38 AM)

I would think that would make it cumbersome when booking a lion for an arrest.

That and having to avoid the claws and teeth would just be a little difficult.

The deer around these parts are so mot afraid of people, I once saw a lady walk up to one and smack it on the rear to stop it from eating a tree she planted.

Giraffes and humans have same number of vertebrae in their necks, 7.

The largest desert on earth is in Antarctica. It covers more than 5.4 million square miles, over one and half times larger than the Sahara Desert.

90% of the world's ice is in Antarctica, though precipitation there averages only 2 inches per year.

The driest place on earth is Calama, a town in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile, which has never had recorded rainfall

I had no idea that there was anywhere on earth that never gets rain.
Here in AZ it feels that way sometimes. It was 108 degrees yesterday.[sm=fireanger.gif] [:D]

A NATION'S STRENGTH

What makes a nation's pillars high
And it's foundations strong?
What makes it mighty to defy
The foes that round it throng?

It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand
Go down in battle shock;
It's shafts are laid on sinking sand,
Not on abiding rock.

Is it the sword? Ask the red dust
Of empires passes away;
The blood has turned their stones to rust.
Their glory to decay.

And is it pride? Ah, that bright crown
Has seemed to nations sweet;
But God has struck its luster down
In ashes at his feet.

Not gold but only men can make
A people great and strong;
Men who for truth and honor's sake
Stand fast and suffer long.

Brave men who work while others sleep,
Who dare while others fly...
They build a nation's pillars deep
And lift them to the sky.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

also feel free to tell stories in memory of soldiers you know or in your family.

this one is of Coach and Walther.

Coach was SSG Hagar, Joshua and Walther was PFC Walther, Rowan.

both were in their own way close friends of mine. We had some fun times and lotta happy memories. lotta laughing and all.

Coach was the type that you had to respect. 26 years old and 7 years in army was SSG, Platoon Sgt of the Ghost Platoon(((protection to Lt. Cnl))), Ranger, and all around baddest of the bad. wasn't a soldier he didnt love and wouldnt stop at moments notice to help along. He died Feb 20th last year in an IED blast.

Walther was a man among men although young in age, he made up for it in goals and dreams. his knowledge of medical was amazing. a great young man and I loved to answer his questions when he asked them. going to pick up Coach's body they ran over a bomb buried in road. a sad day when he died along with another in back of the vehicle.

God's army gained two young soldiers and grew in might that night.

One day Brother's, we will meet again and I will get to see the smile of two of my best friends.

COMBAT

Roaring noises, Screaming voices
Metal flying there and here
Eyes are burning, Guts are churning
Men are fighting full of fear
Guns are smoking, lungs are choking
Thru it all, godawful smell
I hear crying, men are dying
I'm alive, but I'm in hell!

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Soldier Land (5/26/2008 2:29:48 PM)

OUR SOLDIERS

When the security of our land is threatened,
We call on our soldier's might,
To go wherever they're needed,
To defend us day and night.

They leave their loves ones behind,
A great price our soldiers must pay.
Let us salute their courage and bravery,
May we remember them each time we pray.

Each time we spot "Old Glory"
Waving for all to see,
Let's think of all the soldiers that have
Kept it flying proud and free.

This great country is tolerant
Of cultures from other lands,
But, when they attack our precious freedom
We will punish with a heavy hand.

Our soldiers are tried and true,
Tempered like carbon steel,
Born of American Spirit;
Raised with American will.

Remember our fallen heroes that died,
So freedom may grow,
To nations around the world,
Wherever our warriors may go.
