I've learned a few things about hair over the years. [8D] The reason shaving makes your hair seem thicker is because it cuts all the hairs off at one time, causing it to appear as though they are all growing the same length at the same rate. (And you get a blunt cut at that.) If you wax or "epilate," the hair will be softer because the new hair ends are tapered, like Zippy said. If you never remove hair at all, the same thing will occur and your leg hairs will fall out at intervals and be replaced by new hairs, just like the rest of your body. (Except maybe your head. I don't know how that works.) RE: underarms I fully expected ripping hairs out of my armpits to be unbearable, but I tried it and it wasn't that bad. Shocking.
