Mine is described in the Women's thread. Ha

But no matter what kind of wedding you want or end up having, one thing is for sure...

Do not procrastinate.

Uh oh! Um, thanks for the warning. Should I hire a wedding planner??

If you can afford to I'd say so. lol

You MUST have the entire wedding party dance to Thriller.
You MUST dance to "Time of My Life" as your first dance.

Of course I'm not doing any of those.

I was thinking of just giving my bouquet away to someone. There won't be very many single gals there at all.

somehow a song about being attack by undead corpses just doesn't seem to be wedding type material to me. (Unless of course you're marrying a zombie)

Then I would give it to either the longest married couple or the couple whose marital relationship you respect the most.

As one who always makes her way to the ladies room during the boquet toss, I fully concur with this!

I haven't given the details of a future wedding thought. I don't know why but the older I get the more I like the idea of going to the Justice of the Peace. Weddings seem like a lot of work. Since the majority of my relatives are overseas and expect to be invited to a wedding I don't think that idea is going to fly.

lol. I'm just perplexed why John is not calling me Trishy. AA is just so formal. Maybe only my John should be calling me that.

Ok, sorry for the off topic route. Maybe I should everyone here what they think of my idea for favors. Since my DF is from Cleveland we wanted to incorporate something from Cleveland. How does caramel popcorn balls sound?

The truth? I remember that one of you and Cherish goes by "Trish" and the other by "Trishy" and I can never remember which is which. When in doubt, use the name I can see.

Crunchy (and delicious)

Fun Betty, I don't flirt. That is one of the few things I do take seriously.

My sister is getting married in July!!!!!
We are all travelling out to Montana, she lives there.......and on Fri. they are having a justice of peace ceremony, followed by brunch........on Sat. all of us family will be somewhere, and just sharing things, siblings get to talk about the person as a child......and parents get to share wisdom.

I'm pretty excited about this........and am thinking this is the route i will go if i ever get married. I have step sisters/brothers/nieces from them, etc.......but, our families arent really close.
And i'm getting a little bit older, and thinking money should be used appropriately..........for me!!! =) So, that would be where i am at right now!

Rosie.

That's sounds like a nice idea ... to not stress out so much about lots of arrangements but just have a simple ceremony where everyone can enjoy being together and celebrate the occasion.

Thats exactly right.......i've never been to Montana......my parents and i are flying out on Tues. and flying back Mon. My little sis is flying out a little bit earlier cuz she is in Costa Rica right now, and the grooms family is flying in from chicago around that time.......and we are told that we are there for vacation.......just those two things are planned right now! =) Which is cool....cuz sometimes when people get together there is this feeling of having to do stuff, instead of just be! And that causes a lot of stress in people.

So, we will just be and have a great time together. The groom is this intellectual fellow, and he gave us some good reads about the area, so that was pretty funny!

Me? As simple as possible, as inexpensive as possible. (lol, like THAT'S going to happen!).

Two reasons for this:
1. I want the emphasis of the day to be on the significance of the commitment (I want that to be the focus of the day.
2. I'd rather spend more on the honeymoon. It may well be the only chance I get to travel overseas.

In German, it's called "Die Ente Tanz," or "The Duck Dance." I don't know where anyone gets 'chicken' out of 'duck.' That's....just....fowl!

And, I remember having a lot of different dreams as afar as weddings go...

For a while, I though getting married on the Star Ship Enterprise, the Millennium Falcon, etc. would be awesome. Or, especially a Klingon Bird of Prey. Those ships are just so kewl looking! Or, in the hanger bay of the Battlestar Galactica. That would also be pretty kewl.

But, more realistically... I have though about a western themed wedding, though I'm not a huge western music fan, don't own a pick-up or my own horse, haven't worn my extremely beat-up cowboy hat in many, many years, etc. I have seen videos where people got married in the nude, even scuba diving. But, I would prefer more of an outdoor wedding. Maybe not in a botanical garden like my uncle did, but in a very picturess area. Preferably on the side of a mountain, not by the ocean (personal preference). No, not on the side of a volcano, either. If I was marrying someone who was also a trained airborne paratrooper, doing so in a C-17 and the 'going out the back' wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

But, after essentially eloping with my ex-, and all the 'fun' that turned out to being... Eloping is one thing I definitely do not want to do. And, after being in the military as long as I have, being a NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) and all, I definitely want to get married in my Class A (formal, that is white shirt and black bow-tie) with my NCO sabre. And, I do want it in a church. Not a huge wedding like in "Sound of Music." But, one big enough for a good number of guests to attend.

Just my personal opinion... And, these personal opinions are not necessarily shared by my soon-to-be wife.

RC
