Doesn't this story make your faith stronger?

Dr. George Rodonaia holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. in neuropathology, and a Ph.D. in the psychology of religion. Most recently he delivered a keynote address to the United Nations on the “Emerging Global Spirituality.” Before immigrating to the United States from the Soviet Union in 1989, he worked as a research psychiatrist at the University of Moscow.
Dr. Rodonaia underwent one of the most extended cases of a “clinical near death experience” ever recorded. Pronounced dead immediately after he was hit by a car in 1976, he was left for three days in a morgue. He did not “return to life” until a doctor began to make an incision in his abdomen as part of an autopsy.

I could not vote, but yes, it does though I have a very strong faith through an evil vs. good experience. The last statement about love convicted me of my attitude. This is a wonderful story, and thank you for sharing this wonderful story of a life transformed.[:D]

I'd like to see some independent verification of this story...3 days seems a little fishy to me. The whole "life review" thing has been explained by the mis-firing of neurons in the brain due to oxygen deprivation...
I've also even read that book 23 minutes in hell and I really could punch holes in it if I wanted to do the research.
I am an x-believer. I finally came to the conclusion that I don't need some "higher power" to give my life meaning...and when I'm gone, I'm gone. I have no real desire to spend "eternity" anywhere. Non-existence doesn't bother me...when the time comes, I hope the legacy I leave behind in my children, their children and so-on will be the eternity that folks dream of.

{quote}
"At some point, I underwent what has been called the “life-review process,” for I saw my life from beginning to end all at once...
This was my life. I didn’t experience any sense of guilt or remorse for things I’d done. I didn’t feel one way or another about my failures, faults or achievements. All I felt was my life for what it is. And I was content with that. I accepted my life for what it is..."

No, this story does NOT make me think of Jesus at all.
This story does NOT make me think of the true Gospel at all.
This story does NOT make me think of the light of Christ at all.
A person may look good on the outside, and love...
They still have a sin ussue that must be delt with.
Without a Savior (grace, through faith in Christ) their works are still like filthy rags.
Some verses come to my mind.

John 8:12
12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Luke 13:3
"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

2 Corinthians 11
4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough...
14And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

you forgot the part where he says that he went back and lived in the minds of Jesus and his apostles. That he heard their conversations, experienced eating, passing wine, smells, tastes, bologna , nonsense, and utter ridiculousness. ( i added the bold)

I would like to know where some people get the nerve to make up stuff like this.

you want some more garbage

Jesus gave a man something to eat that tasted like chocolate. After the man ate it, Jesus informed him that he just ate the Bible and because of this, he will remember its contents. (Emanuel Tuwagirairmana)

Jesus gave a man a hug and told him to, "Go and hug others." (John P.)

Jesus told a gay man that he would send guardian angels to help him when he returned. It was two gay men who helped him. (Dr. Liz Dale's research)

Jesus said to a child, "Will you come unto me?" The child told Jesus, "No." (David Goines)

Do we have any more fairy tales to tell. This is all extremely disturbing.

it is rather difficult to give one's opinion in a poll when there is only one answer.
The only thing that makes my faith stronger is spending more time in God's word. It is an interesting story, but to me it is just that, a story.

This story does nothing for my faith PsychicmediumSpassoff because to sum it up in a few lines from the old Hymn 'On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand' by Edward Mote:

"My faith is built on nothing less
than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly lean on Jesus Name......" [sm=icon_smile_sing.gif][sm=icon_smile_sing.gif]

My faith grows by hearing God's Word "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Also, I like to encourage my Christian brethren by sharing what God's Word says and with testimony (whether personal or otherwise to what He has done in my life/others lives) which likewise can be backed by the Word of God. This is God's way (according to His Scriptures) and His way has never disappointed yet - I can testify of this as can many others.

Based on what I have shared therefore - this story does not do anything for my faith at all but thank you for sharing anyhow PsychicmediumSpassoff. [:)]

SonInMe1 -> RE: This will regain your faith in Jesus (5/5/2008 10:01:40 AM)

Faith has little to do with what is seen and experienced. Jesus told Thomas it was good that he believed when he saw but it is even better to have faith without seeing.

Faith proves God and little else. Its why we have so many people in the world like NotDoneYet, who had no true faith, thought they had it, and lost it because of arguements or experiences.

Faith is never lost. It can't be. Its not manufactured by us. It isn't reasoned out by us. Its not in historical documents or archeological evidence.

Its in our hearts placed there by God.

Little1,
quote:

My faith grows by hearing God's Word "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God."

That is one of my favorite verses!
It is also true in my life!
Nothing compares to God's Word!!!
