Happy Summer and welcome to the 2008 SS Flip-Flop Exchange!!

This will be the official sign-up and survey thread for the flip-flop exchange.
I will be running this one.

Requirements:
Be at least a Senior Member (500 posts or more)
Have been a regular poster for at least 4 months.
This is for everyone's comfort since addresses will be exchanged. Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis.

Please PM me your name, mailing address, e-mail, and username.

Timeline:
Sign up will be from today (May 4) until May 17th (Saturday). Names will go out by May 21 and you will have until June 7th to mail your package.

We are keeping with the simpler format that we have been using. In the past there have been ladies who could not participate for financial reasons, so we are trying to keep costs as reasonable as possible. Since our goal is to have fun and make friends, the following guidelines apply:

* This will be a flip-flop (the sandals [;)]) exchange. You should plan to mail out at least 1 pair of flip-flops that you think your SS would like, and to receive one pair in exchange (and sisterhood, and prayers).

Ideas for where to buy:
- discount stores like Wal*Mart or Target
- Old Navy has flip-flops two pairs for $5
- feeling creative? Michaels usually carries plain flip-flops that you could decorate/embellish yourself.
- lots of online shoe places

* How can your secret sister pray for you? I will be in the process of moving back to the US during June. Pray for me as I leave my currently position/location and move back to the states. Pray that I will be able to leave my friends/students here and transition well back to the states. I start teaching in a public school in Aug - the past two years I have been in a private Christian school, so that will be a change.

I would totally sign up for this one cuz it sounds like a lot of fun, but I need to wear orthotic insoles so I can't wear any sandals... [>:] Unless they are those croc ones (or similar ones)... which I have 2 of.[8D]

We could do fake crocs in addition to flip-flops... I was actually thinking about that too. Those are available for under $10.

Finances. Stability for my dd since we have been in CA for six months. She's still adjusting. My struggles to get disability and/or unemployment.

* What colors do you wear most often? Many, Brown, black, I just bought a lot of bright colored shirst, orange, bright blue, green etc

* What colors do you not ever wear? Green - I don't own one green thing... Funny! Probably because they make my eyes turn green and i want blue eyes. :)

* How can your secret sister pray for you? I am really frustrated right now with finding a job. I am very discouraged in my finance. And the fact that i am missing out on somethings that I had planned because I am not working. :( I am really trying to not be frustrated at God.

still trying to decide if I will join in this time Cathrine. I don't want you to think I don't want to, it's just that with my being pregnant my feet are hugely swollen right now, and I don't know that I could even figure out a size right now. So I am still trying to decide if I want to attempt to participate this round or just skip it again.

Hi ladies!

I just want to let you know something for this and future exchanges. If you send a package to Canada, using either FedEx or UPS or a company as such, they charge the recipient a border services tax on the package.

So I suggest sending packages through regular old US Post (we don't get charged when it comes through that).

Just wanted to let you all know, because I didn't know this either until recently and I know a lot of Canadian ladies get involved in the exchanges.

I think you should think yes!

I wasn't going to do it, but I'm getting a tattoo on top of my foot as my Mother's Day gift, so I'll be wearing lots of flip-flops while it heals!
