Dinner sounds great Leah! When do you want us over??

We are doing a what I call bachelor's delight. One of the single guys in our shul (synagogue) makes it for oneg (potluck). It is a can of Progresso chunky chicken soup, cooked rice, cream of chicken soup, chicken tenders all dumped into the crockpot and fogediboudit (forget about it) until its ready. He uses a basic ingredient of Progresso soup and rice and then adds stuff to it. Sometimes he'll add a can of pinapple and tomatoes .. you can get pretty creative.

Glad to hear that you have the window almost done Leah. Give yourself permission to rest though.

How about tomorrow night, Marsha?? Bill called before I got supper started, and invited me out for supper! -- Hey, who am I to argue with my hubby????

So, the chicken has been refrigerated until tomorrow eveing . . . BTW, your meal DOES sound creative -- and good!

And yes, I will give myself a break -- even my husband said that tonight -- that I need to take a day for myself. It's supposed to be rainy here all week, so I'm thinking I should wait until next week when I can just sit out in the backyard swing and read all day . . well, at least while Garrett is napping

Barb, t-bone steak has to be one of my favorite meals

Barb, wow, I don't know what to say. I'm sorry that you were put in that position. Doesn't sound like a good way to handle things at all.

Leah, it all sounds wonderful! Don't work too hard though.

My clothesline is now operational! I finally finished mowing today; although now the part that got mowed last week needs it again....

Tonight we had a scout farewell supper for one of the families that is leaving. My 4yo was sad because we didn't go to the mother-daughter thing at church tonight; I think the little ones sang? I never got a note. I think they might have made some decorations too. There were a few other little kids there so I think she had more fun running around and playing tonight.

Yup, I'm up, but no at 'em either

Good Wen. Morning Everyone
It's gonna rain here to. Sky is all dark, and I'm waiting for it to start up any time now. We might get some sunshine this afternoon. Then I want to work in my flower garden. Never got that done yesterday. Can only do so much in a day ya know.
Glad you are takeing a rest today Leah. It will wait for you for sure.
I only have Isabelle this afternoon. So I have the morning to myself.
My deck and trim work need repainting/staining this spring. Want to get to it before the middle of June. That's when I get the two babies, and the older two kids back. Don't think I will get anything done when I start watching them again.

Dee, glad you got your clothes line put up. Bet you can't wait to hang out soon. Hope your 4yo was'ent to upset and did'ent miss to much. I did that one year. Did'ent know my kids had a awards night for school. Never got a note telling me about it. Missed the whole thing. They even got awards
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law took them along because they had kids in school also. I felt like a terrible mom when they came home with all these awards, and I missed it

So besides weeding that flower garden, I also have to clean out my bedroom drawers. Got all my summer clothes down from the attic. And all washed up. Now I have to get the rest of my winter clothes out, and packed away. Did most of it a while back...but you gotta keep some stuff down, just in case. Plus I have the supper dishes from last night waiting for me to wash up. And this house did'ent get cleanned up yesterday because I was outside most of the day. So that's another chore that needs to get done.
But it's just so peaceful sitting here next to the open deck door. And listening to the birds and geese. I don't want to move.

Good morning, Barb & Dee. It's a rainy, dreary morning here, too. And I really am thinking about just taking the day off. I just found out I won't have Garrett the next two days again, so that's when I'd really like to do the painting on the finish work & start moving stuff back in place.

It is so hard to get anything like that done with him around. Worked out well yesterday cuz I was outside, and he was content to watch his cartoons, but if I'm where he can see me or get to me, he's all over me. Right now he's discovered he can reach Jasmine's tail as she's lying on the back of my chaise . . so he's tormenting her

Anyway, lying on the chaise reading a book and watching the birds at the feeder is starting to look very, very tempting

Leah,
Lay outside reading? In the rain?

I can't do much outdoors yet because everything is wet. But IF we get that promised sinshine I can get the garden weeded. In the meantime I got my bedroom done and the kids bedrooms done. Now I have to vaccume before Isabelle gets here. Then I will tackle them dishes calling to me...clean me...clean me. LOL
Mabey I'll make a quick dessert fro tonight while I'm in here.

HEY THE SUNSHINE HAS COME TO MY AREA

Leah, isn't a cat a great plaything! Well, maybe not. R likes it when our cats get outside because then she can chase them around the yard. They are supposed to stay inside.

Yay for sunshine Barb! It's cloudy here, it looks like the sun could come out, so we'll see. It's not too cold, so I'm happy either way.

Barb, the chaise I was referring to is my chaise lounge I just got a month or so ago, so no I wouldn't be lying outside in the rain reading . . . I just heard we're supposed to get 1-3 inches, so guess I won't plan on any outside work. But then, what am I talking about -- I'm not planning any work at all today

Yeah, Dee, cats AND dogs make wonderful playthings . . . Garrett's chased our dog so much he's actually losing a little weight -- the dog, that is.

LOL..oh that explains it Leah. Your inside lounge sounds like a plan
Nobody can touch the cat we have here. She is just way to moody for any play. When Katie moves this summer, she will take the cat with her. It's her's anyways. Then I won't have ANY animal hair on my furniture anymore
I must say I do miss my dog. Even was thinking about getting another dog. But I can't bring myself to even look. Nothing can measure up to our Buddy

Dee, we have 65 degree's here. That's alright with me as long as the sun hangs around

You deserve a day off Leah, enjoy!

One of our cats R should just stay away from; she doesn't realize when the cat has had enough. Our other cat though is very tolerant.

Sounds like a beautiful day there Barb!

Yes dee..the day is turning out to be lovely. I just have to get the indoor stuff done now. Then I can get outside. Isabelle is sleeping so I have more free time.
Katie's cat has been leaving her hairball barf around for awhile now. I even changed her cat food thinking that will help. Gross
Not gonna miss that cat

Good afternoon everyone!

OK OK Denny I guess I should get up now!

Just came back home from running erands. Bought an heirloom tomato plant. It is a white tomato.

Ah cats. We have 4 of the little furballs. I keep telling Les that everything tastes better with cat hair, but he just gives me that, " you are tooo funny look"
Whenever our grands come in the house all but one run for cover (cats that is) . Angel puts up with it all knowing that when he's done he will nip and then be left alone. I think both of the GDs have cried out, "Angel bit meeeeee". The GSs are still too young to have the "encounter".

Our weather is pretty well set for summer now. No more rain. Usually by the end of May we start teasing the high 90s. UCH!
OK what's the plan for supper tonight?
I'm doing spaghetti w/ meat sauce and steamed broccoli and brussel sprouts.

Good afternoon -- well, evening it is now. I have really taken it easy today, and I feel so much better.

I fixed my chicken breast tonight . . with stovetop stuffing and lima beans. Enjoying it all right now -- very good!

Good Thur. Morning Everyone

Supper last night was suppose to be chicken over rice, and wax beans. But I put the chicken back in the freezer, and made eggs with bacon insted. Had a hunger for eggs once. Hubby did'ent seem to mind.
Don't know what to serve tonight. Cody has a 5PM dentist appt. I have to get him to the high school for drivers ed at 6PM. So I can first start supper after that. Mabey I can put a beef roast in the slow cooker today. That way everyone can eat whenever.

I had a wonderful dream about my mom last night. First good dream I have had about her. Usually they are nightmares. She was able to come back to us for two days. We got to talk and have fun with her. It was so sweet, I did'ent want to wake up this morning.

Woke up to a cool 52 degrees. The sun is shinning tho. I have to get out in that flower garden this morning. Been putting it off all week now. So I guess I can put my sweat's on, and get out there.

Sometime tomorrow I might become a grandmother again. They induce Sarah in the morning. Ethan will have a new baby brother.

We also have to attend a wake tomorrow night. The funeral is Sat. morning. My mother-in-laws brother passed away Tues. afternoon. It was expected. He had cancer that was to far gone, when they found it. But the mother-in-law is still taking it hard. He was her younger brother afterall.
So my Friday evening is filling up fast. Between the wake/veiwing tomorrow night, we might also have to get to the hospital to see the new grandson (if he is born tomorrow) Plus we got invited to go out and eat with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I told her I would call if we got time to go or not.

I'm glad you got to enjoy a good dream about your mom, Barb.

Thanks for reminding me to get something out to thaw for supper. I pulled out some ground turkey. It'll probably still be pretty frozen since I forgot to get it out yesterday, but we'll manage. Just to figure out what to do with it....

It looks like a pretty, sunny day here.

Hi Dee,
Wow..you just reminded me to take out something for supper!
Insted of a beef roast, I pulled out 2# of hamburger. Gonna make BBQ/ sloppy joe in the slow cooker. Then we can all grab a sandwich whenever.

Got half or the flower garden done. Will finish up the rest when Isabell lays down for her nap. It's looking pretty good so far.
It's rather chilly and windy out there. But once you start working it's alright.

Good Morning.

Where's our wake up call from Denny??

So glad you had such a good dream about your mom Barb. Sounds like you are healing.
The BBQ sounds good.

Dee I make a meatloaf out of ground turkey.

Can't decide myself what to fix. Since it is payday (yahhhhh!) I may try for a dinner out.
This Mother's day weekend we will be eating out alot. On Sunday DS is taking me out for brunch and DD for dinner. Then on Monday it is DSs birthday so he wants to do a family dinner at a resturant. But I don't have to cook. Good deal!

Marsha,
Wow..you get to have dinner out alot this week.
My daughter wants to take me out for supper on Mothers Day. I made reservations this afternoon.

There, got the flower garden all weeded, and raked the bark chips around. Guess I will have to get more of them this spring. Wonder where they all go?
Have the BBQ going in the slow cooker. Made dessert last night, so that's all set. Little Isabelle is watching a DVD she brought from home. She calls it her "ABC Movie" It's Leap Frog Letter Factory. Teaches phonics to the pre-reader. Sort of a cute DVD.

Marsha, I make meatloaf out of the ground turkey too. One of my oldest daughter's favorite things is meatloaf; she'll sometimes make it for us. Tonight will probably be spaghetti or something else easy.

Barb, we have that Leap Frog DVD. Also the Let's Make a Word one that comes after it.
