LOL, There is a comma there you know. [8|][:D]

But, I was recently given some Hot chili pepper chocolate the other day. I haven't tried it yet. I am working on some other chocolate I have.

I have been able to read a map since I was a kid. And I don't do that much traveling to unfamiliar places where I could justify the cost of a GPS.

How big a truck do you drive?

10-speed international BIG tractor...w/ a 53' dry van trailer. (but we used to have a beautiful dark red peterbilt. sighhhhh....)

Um, I like chocolate, but chocolate and pepper don't seem to be a combination I'd ever think to put together. Give it a try and let us know what you think! [:D]

I have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies with pepper in them. They are very good. You taste the sweet before you taste the hot.

I have an internal GPS - I have only gotten lost one time in my life - and that's because I was trying to follow mapquest directions, and the roadways in NJ weren't properly identified!

NJ is also one the few places I have gotten lost as well. The roads were not labeled well and I was driving in the remnants of a hurricane.

[sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]

Hard to believe? [8D][:D]

I always say I have driven in almost all kinds of weather. It really wasn't to bad most of the time the constant pounding of rain on the car roof got to me.............. after a few hours. The noise only ceased when I was on the lower level of a double decked bridge, that was until you got to the seams then is was like driving under someone dumping a huge bucket of water on the windsheild.

Yep. You had to drive in all kinds of weather at your last job. But did you have to drive all the way to Jersey as part of the last job???

The rain in the remnants of a hurricane isn't always bad, though the air is unstable and you don't know if you're going to come across a tornado or two. Also, the roads are in really rough condition after going through a hurricane... I'm sure there were some large branches in the road at times.

My colleague tells the story of driving over one of the bridges during one of the hurricanes in '04 - she wasn't aware there was a hurricane coming, and the water was coming over the bridge!!

I was on vacation it rained hard everyday, all day for the 3 days I was travelling in that area.[:'(] I missed seeing so many things I wanted to see. [:(] Maybe some day I'll go back but never in August again.

Would you ladies like to be surprised by your husband planning a weekend trip?

Oh yes!!!

When are we just supposed to listen to your problems and when are we supposed to fix your problems?

If we are venting our frustrations, just listen. If we have a problem with the car, or something isn't working in the house, we would like you to fix it. [:)]

And what ftL said: When I am done venting, a hug with no offers of help is usually welcome.

Many times when I've overheard a woman's conversation with another (usually in the kitchen at work, in the hallway as I pass by, etc) they are usually sharing intimate details of their personal life. Why? And what happened to discretion?

I'm wanting to know the answer to this as well ... it's beyond me why people feel a need to share private, confidential, or highly personal information when others' are within earshot. I believe quite firmly in discretion.

Maybe they are showing off, thinking they're cool? Maybe they crave the attention? You know, any attention is better than no attention mindset ... ?

ROFLMHO!! Okay, this was responding to the tool questions, and coming from a mechanical family, I understand the incredible NEED and reason (perhaps obsession) for possessing every size tool on the market, as well as the need to own every variety available ... hand, electric, pneumatic ... but, let's face it, this comment was just too funny! And it leads to my question

Why do some guys think they need the biggest vehicle on the road? The Excursion? The Hummer? A duelly?

for some it's a competition issue. "My truck is bigger than your truck. nyah nyah nyah"

For some it's a social benfit issue. In some areas around here the truck with the biggest tires goes first at the 4 way stops.

For some it's a comfort issue. The view is better from abigger vehicle and some guys just don't fit into smaller ones. I used to drive a 2000 bonneville. I could barely feel comfortable in it. We bought the minivan and it has enough room inside for me.

For some its a capability issue. If you tow anything often you need a big truck. If you haul you need a big truck. I won't buy a vehicle that I can't haul plywood in. (Not that I cart around sheets of plywod often but I want to have that capability.)

And for some it's sex appeal. In some areas here the big truck. SUV is the social equivalent of the sports car

Another guy thing I wonder about, "not that there's anything wrong with it", and it goes along with the question asked us gals: How come you always want to "fix" our problems? Seriously, is it just the way you think? Does it make you feel more manly? Is it how you feel you can show you care? I have always wondered about this.

Not that it makes us feel manly, it's just the way a man thinks. There's a problem - fix the problem - no more problem. Also it's not just your problems we wnat to fix. We want to fix our own problems, our frineds problems, our co-workers problems, or parents problems, and on and on and on...ad infinitum.

I think this may be the same reason we like explosions. It's the "Wow" factor. You know, big trucks, big dogs, big guns. Basically something you can look at and say, "Wow!"

Okay, butting in here a bit.

I actually understand that. But let's continue.

Say he's not able to "fix" or "solve" this particular problem. So he no longer wants to listen to me, er, her, talk about it. He says, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?"

Jazzlvr stated it perfectly. Fixing stuff is what we do. If it can't be fixed, why worry about it?

Say you have a cousin who's destroying their life by making really stupid decisions. You've tried everything to help them get smart but they refuse. You can either ignore it or worry about it and let them drag you down too.

If it can't be fixed it doesn't really merit attention.

And that is a very hard thing for men to overcome. We know you ladies want to talk about it but we don't see the reaosn or purpose for it. What are you going to profit from it?

So we shouldn't have conversations that don't have a possible "end"? That you can't take care of? Talking just for the sake of venting is out, right?

No it's just something that the guys have to realize the ladies sometimes need and the ladies have to realize that it goes almost entirely against most guy's nature so we are trying to do good but may stumble from time to time.

jazzlvr -> RE: He says/She says for Singles (May Game Thread) (5/9/2008 10:03:42 PM)

That's why so many men get impatient when you keep talking to (what we consider "to death") us about something that either we can't fix or you don't want us to fix.
You are right about some men. If a situation can't be fixed, they quit listening. Others are more sensitive than that.

Our (a man's) attitude about things that can't be fixed is either get rid of it, replace it, or ingnore it. Either way, for us, it's not worth worrying about. But you are right again, it's not unreasonable to expect us to listen to you vent.

Okay, this may have been asked before, but why do you guys stare at girls?

humbleinspirit -> RE: He says/She says for Singles (May Game Thread) (5/11/2008 12:59:57 AM)

Because they are pretty and we get fixated on them, afterall, men are more visual.

humbleinspirit -> RE: He says/She says for Singles (May Game Thread) (5/11/2008 1:12:47 AM)

Now its hard to explain, we see women of beauty, and we get that gooeyness inside, etc.
