I Love bleu cheese dressings; especially when there's big chunks of real bleu cheese in it.

Bob Evans has the most wonderful chicken salad fruit plate that they do in the summer -- they just put it back on the menu -- its so good. The chicken salad has small grapes and pecans in it.
Yummy!

Hence, "on the side"

"Heavy" is in the amount . . . vinaigrette dressings can be heavy is too much is used.

Everyone off to concerts and weddings today?? I'm trying to watch the ballgame but I leave the room to check in here and the other team scores 2 runs...hummm.

In the salad dressing world I still prefer Ranch...goes with everything!!!

Man, Lynn . . . maybe I really do live in a cave. I didn't go to a concert, nor a wedding today. Neither did I watch a ball game. Nor did I eat anything with Ranch on it today (nor will I ever knowingly do so).

Terri, your salad dressing sounds yummy (well, except for the vinagrette part).

But, dahlin' - OF COURSE!

I bought a container of bleu cheese crumbles about a month ago. Oh my word; I was in heaven! Every salad I ate for probably the next two weeks had bleu cheese crumbles in it.
(and I eat at least one salad every day).

RE: salad dressing: I used to actually eat salad with no dressings at all. I think I might actually go back to that. If the vegetables are fresh, they're going to have a high water content; and with enough spices and whatnots, a salad is pretty tasty without salad dressing.

No...dear you don't live in a cave!!!
I too will eat very little dressing on salad...why cover up all those delicious veggies???? I always order it on the side. I do venture out once in a while and try other dressings but for the life of me I cannot eat bleu cheese...now it is hubby's favorite. He complains that I eat my sandwiches dry...I prefer very little if any condiments on my hamburgers, etc.

Oh...goodnews...going back to the lack of a car conversation...eldest went out today and bought himself a use pickup truck A nice small one...2005 Chevy S10 for those who know cars/trucks. So one transportation issue fixed. We got his old car back today. Paid the repair shop $175 to pick it up...look at it...and then tow it home. I think we are going to just scrap it. It has a burned up wiring harness and other issues. It's been a good car. We've managed to get 25K miles out of it in 2 years since my mother gave it to us. At least we don't have to worry about getting son back and forth to work. He was so tickled he just beamed. I think it really is the first time he has managed to do something like this without either of us involved...another milestone into adulthood.

We've made it back. Wonderful concert tonight. Had a great lunch at Roadhouse Steak House with Driven and Danny. We were going to O'Charleys but the traffic was dead on I-75 south (that's not moving) so we headed toward Woodstock to the O'Charleys there, I just happened to think about the Roadhouse and it was closer so we stopped there. Hadn't been there in a while but it was good even down to the peanuts. No desert as the guys had a coca cola cake to eat later tonight.

Me too. That has been my dressing of choice lately.

Hi, Sony!

Have you noticed that good bleu cheese is really good, and bad bleu cheese is really bad?

Oh wow; Sony! You, Christi and I could start a club.

Glad y'all made it back safe and sound, Bobby and that y'all enjoyed the concert!

Great news on the truck, Lynn!

Hi Christi, I can imagine that would be the case about the dressing. I'm probably somewhat spoiled in that we try not to buy items with a lot of chemicals or preservatives so we probably have only bought the good kind. I hadn't really thought about the difference in salad dressings.

SharMar, what are you doing still up?! This is uncharacteristic of me too (except for lately) but we just got home so I have a good excuse.

You know, I hadn't thought about store bought dressing. I had restaurant made dressing in mind. I can't recall the bad ones, but I could name a few restaurants around here that make fabulous bleu cheese.

Would you mind sharing what kind you buy? I bought one bottle at a grocery store and it was so bad I never did it again.

It's hard sometimes, ain't it, SharMar? Well, I'm very happy to see you this evening.

Christi, we buy Marie's dressing. To me, it's good but then I'm not necessarily a dressing connoisseur. If you're thinking restaurants, I can imagine some of those would be bad. At times, I've gotten into Thousand Island dressing and it seems like sometimes it was edible and sometimes it wasn't (in the restaurants).

ETA: My sister found that line so I thought I'd use it. There's a couple others I plan to use in the future.

Thanks for pointing that signature out, SharMar.

That is good!

We have never tried Marie's, so maybe we'll give it a shot. Thanks!
