Leslie_JnJs_mom -> Are the Dems. better with the economy? (5/7/2008 10:27:49 PM)

I have heard people in our church say that democrats are better with the economy then republicans. I think they are referring to how things were with clinton and now. What do you think?

My guess is that they are starting to make their list of excuses for voting abortion, gay rights, and other ungodly concepts...

Yeah, they aren't the only ones voting for "ungodly concepts". Remember Bush & Cheney took us to an unneeded war where hundreds of thousands have been killed...and for what? This country has been run into the ground and I hope & pray Obama is our next Commander-in-Cheif. Republicans were in control for a long time and guess what???...abortion is still legal and gas is at record highs and people are dying needlessly everyday in Iraq...it's time for change.

They probably do attribute the 90s to the Clintons but have either forgotten (or are too young to remember) the most awful 4 economic years of my life, the Carter years.

Both parties take credit for a good economy when their person is President but always blame the other side even if they have their person in the Whitehouse.

And to swell the welfare rolls. Those votes count as much as yours or mine. No-strings-attached cash to the lazy and feckless means the Dems' base stays solid.

I was young when Carter was elected but I do remember stagflation and malaise. We are nowhere near that.

Their Senate leader is blaming our current economic woes on the GOP and GW Bush. In regards to the part of the economy that is affecting fuel and energy prices, why can't he show the American public any legislation that they have put on the President's desk that was rebuffed by him? Because after two years in control of BOTH houses of Congress they haven't done anything. Matter of fact, I'd like to see ANYTHING the Dems have put on his desk that deals with economic issues, but in particular energy issues.

The lust for money trumps the thirst for justice. Gasoline is more important that unborn children. 50 million killed...and for what?

Our country has not been "run into the ground." People from all over the world apply for citizenship her every day. Many others sneak in.

I hate to burst your bubble (not really[:D]) but the Dems have been on charge of Congress and they haven't done anything other than complain about how bad George is! If they had any integrity at all they would schedule up or down votes on the judicial nominees that are tied up in the Senate; they would put forth spending bills that actually made sense instead of all the pork and bridges to nowhere; they would stand up and refuse to ___________________ (fill in whatever you want since they haven't done a stinkin' thing other than complain!!!)

I don't look for the Right to deal with the problem, but it's something beyond reason to support mass murder as a personal freedom...

How can one hope and pray for a person who supports murdering children to be elected? That would be like praying for King Herod to be put into power...

People forget that when Paul told the church to pray for its leaders becuase God put them there that Nero was in power. He used christians as torches to light his garden at night.

So, what do we do with these 50 million after they are born to mothers who obviously don't want them and quite possibly can't care for them? Any suggestions?

lightshineon -> RE: Are the Dems. better with the economy? (5/8/2008 9:40:59 PM)

Adoption, and many change minds after seeing children. 50 million what a shameful number, pro-choice starts with choosing to keep your drawers on. Abortion as birth contol method is so very lazy, and sinful, especially when there are many other methods not excluding abstanance.

He said to pray for them primarily that we have peace to spread the Gospel. It didn't imply that God was okay with turning believers into torches.

Prayer for someone doesn't automatically mean a prayer for their blessing. If you read through Psalms, you'll also find that it's legitimate to pray that God destroy and kill those in power that are enemies of God.

In fairness to Carter though didn't he have to deal with the end of the Nixon wage and price freezes? Your next statement though trumps everything on the subject:

Rich bro- um, this happened under the Republican Congress with the Republican President. Remember that Dubya decided after setting records in numbers of earmarks and how much money got spent on pork overall he signed that executive order right after the Dems took over.

While you could say that the judicial nominees problems are uncalled for it gives me fond memories of that king of the filibuster Bob Dole. There was an artist with the filibuster and he pretty much derailed the first half of the first term of Clinton.

I was assuming that the people on here we well versed enough in their own bibles to know that.

My point still stands. When Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi took over they promised all kinds of things and still haven't delivered on them. Just because the (R)'s are a bunch of useless idiots doesn't mean the (D)'s are any better

None... Not a single one... And I don't have to have one... I don't have to account for those murdered outside the womb, why should I have to have a solution so a person will not murder in the womb? Should we give the guy who robs the 7-11 a 1000 bucks so he won't shoot the clerk? Why should I have to offer a solution so a person will not kill someone? That smells like extortion... Killing the unborn child is murder... It's wrong, it's against God's word, and there is no excuse... And it's not because there is an lack of options, but simply a lack of regard for life and worst, people don't fear God...

If you were to start a thread regardind precatory prayers about half of those posting on the thread would say that Christ's message in the NT did away with that type of prayer and as well, David was an exception... Some of those folks also believe the Flood is just a story, and Joshua's actions at Jericho could not have been ordered by God...

Don't assume....

My friend wanted her child but out of fear of what her parents would do or say she had an abortion. Today that child would be an adult and probably a taxpayer.

Sometimes it's fear that drives a woman to the abortion clinic. Sometimes it's ingornace and her lack of knowing all the options avaliable to her and her unborn child.

Today many people have to adopt outside the USA because there is a shortage of newborns up for adoption.

It's not like 50M abortions occur in one year. By now many of those would be adults with children of their own.

I use to work with pregnant teenagers. NONE of my girls chose to have an abortion. That was twenty five years ago. To date none of those mothers have come to me and said they "regreted" giving birth to their children. NONE of those early twenty something have come to me and said "why did you encourage my mother to allow me to live, you should have told her to abort me!!!"

My good friend who had the abortion when she was a teenager killed herself after she had a child and realized that she did in fact murder her first child. So that child was left without a mother to help raise him. Today he is working and about to be married.

Ask them to give you specifics and explain how it was the democrats that were responsible for it.
