TATERBUGLETTE -> STAY TOGETHER NO MATTER WHAT? (5/9/2008 2:48:53 PM)

Do you? This post of mine isnt to discuss the various theological ideas on the subject, for that has been done by other more knowledgable than I. Let me tell you what can happen when you stay with an abusive spouse, which some advise you to do no matter what (which isnt Scriptural).

As I write this, my youngest is at a clinic being tested as he had unprotected sexual relations with a woman he doenst know. He has symptoms of an STD, emotional problems, and is profoundly depressed. I am praying he doesnt have AIDS.

My oldest is very smart, has a great job and in enormous financial trouble, with deep emotional problems feeling no one will love her if she isnt beautiful. She is drop dead gorgeous.

Being raised by an emotionally absent father, who was cruel and verbally abusive to me for almost 30 years damaged them. It damaged others in the family as well. My ex husbands anger and rage destroyed his own health. He may have cancer. We will find out Monday if he does. He has heart and other health issues. He refused all counseling or help. He was unbelievablly cruel. Staying allowed him to damage my children (my youngest allowed to have sex under our roof with no consequences as a teen). My oldest allowed to do anything she wanted, but she is making improvement with Gods help. Much more happened but I will not make you read all that.

There is a time to consider the well being of ALL instead of catering to a spoiled selfish mate who can ruin an entire family, physically, emotionally and financially. Enough said.
