My friend just called me and told me, so I had to be sure and be the first to announce it! After all, it's because of the Duggars that I even found CW, and I've really enjoyed this community, so without further ado, link here.

I'm not really surprised.

Ha! I found CW too because of the Duggars. I was first at a site that couldn't believe there were people who approved of the Duggars, and linked to CW. The rest as they say is history.

18 kids isn't for me, but live and let live I say. My hubby and I seem to be pretty fertile, so I'm kinda glad we have means of ... not having kids.

I really like what they are doing with swapping the boys and girls jurisdictions. They are having the boys perform traditionally female chores and the girls do traditional male chores. Way to go Duggars!

Now, is that just for the TV special, just for a day? Personally, I think the boys have it on easy street. There are 10 boys and 7 girls. It sounds like the boys have all the outside chores and the girls have the inside chores.

While I appreciate the yard work my hubby does, the inside of a house is way more work then the outside. Although, I think I remember Michelle Duggar saying that one girl has "jurisdiction" over the laundry, but since it's such an insanely big job, she can recruit help... hopefully she's allowed to recruit the boys, too.

The article didn't really say if it were just for a day or not. I suspect it is temporary and I agree that the girls have it harder than the boys. But, I am glad to see the slightest amount of progress on breaking down those old antiquated gender roles. Baby steps.

You can vote for #18's name here.

I voted Juliette for a girl, and Jordan for a boy.

They didn't have a place to tell this, but for middle names with those names, I like Jordan Christopher, and Juliette Alexandra.

Well, we have #5 coming in three months, and dh keeps hinting that he would LOVE to have a family as large as the Duggars. Honestly, so would I ... but I'd also like to have the provisions ahead of time, rather than waiting and hoping -- such as already having the larger house to hold all the kids (yes, I'm a chronic type A who likes to plan ahead) ... and like the Duggar family, we HS our children.

ETA: I just voted for the names as well ... I picked Joselyn for the girl and Jacob for the boy (I'm not biased or anything because I *have* a Jacob, LOL)

Good for them! They have the means and they obviously love their kids.

They are brave, I'll say that.

LOL...those are the two names I picked also. Why do they have "Jack" on the list when they already have a "Jackson"...that makes no sense to me!!

Maybe they don't use nicknames?

I know a family with four kids..Jaqueline, Jocilyn, Jason and Julieana. The first two sound too much alike to me, and I have known them for a year and just now got their names all straight! LOL

I should have gone and looked at the list of names before I voted; I had a feeling that there were some near duplicates as options. I voted for Julianna and Joel.

OK, I just looked at the lists. Jessica and Jessa are pretty similar.

If they really loved their kids, they wouldn't give them all names starting with 'J'.

I wonder if the Duggars actually picked the names for the poll, or just the Discovery Health people?

Do the Duggars really need another TV special? On their last special at least half of it was just recaps of all the previous specials.

On "The Today Show" where she announced her pregnancy the host asked, "Do you know if it is a boy or a girl yet?" Uhm, she is only six weeks along!

I would love to have 18 kids, but I wouldn't want to do a TV special about it.

Maybe with so many similar sound names, they could go by middle names... or just use numbers.

Hey #4, go fetch me #15 so that I can put him down for a nap!

They make good money off of those TV specials, and their latest house was largely completed and furnished due to their TV specials.

So if we make a few good natured cracks about them... well, they've invited the attention.

I saw a Discovery Health show on them last night, and they did say when labeling belongings (they were labeling drinking cups, I think), they do use numbers now.

I suppose that would be more practical than using everyone's initials.

Yeah, I figured that is how the could afford all that nice stuff for their family. I still would feel funny to have all those cameras following me around. Well, maybe I could do it once, but I KNOW I wouldn't do it like that one family with the twins and the sextuplets.

It would be hard not to take comments too personally, and I would so be beating myself up for things that didn't come out the way I had intended.
