PaulPate -> SG Radio (5/9/2008 8:58:54 PM)

I have been listening to an online SG radio station while I am on the computer. I guess it would be considered a "charting station". As I have listened, I have about come to the conclusion that many of the posters on this forum are right when they talk about the decline in the quality of Southern Gospel. I have been a lover of Southern Gospel for many years, and I still love what I consider true Southern Gospel. I realize the term "true Southern Gospel" is subjective and differs with each individual, but I do not enjoy much of what I have heard in the last month on this station, and what I do enjoy is repeated so often that I get tired of it. Does anyone know where, on the net, I could listen to a variety of Southern Gospel music that includes a fair portion of four part harmony quartet music? I am through with this station!

no idea what station you talking about. I am getting an XM sat radio for home/truck soon. chose it over Siris because of SG on XM. but unsure if they stream to net.

best bet, all else fails. GOOGLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Paul, there is an internet radio company that I listen to at work that has dozens of Southern Gospel stations to choose from. You can either get the free version which has commercials after every third song, or you can subscribe and get commercial free music. I use the free version. Send me a PM and I'll give you the name of it.

Try THIS. You can log in with your SN name & password. It is a mix of old and new, but there should be something for everyone.

wfgw.org is great! This is a great station in Black Mountain NC.
I also have listened to allquartetsradio and like it.

Well, I wasn't going to mention this on here because of the no advertising policy but since everyone else is mentioning specific stations, I guess I will too.

www.live365.com offers more then 100 genres of music. Their SG section had 58 SG stations as of yesterday. You can register and listen to most of the stations for free but there are commercials after every third song or so. You can also subscribe to get commercial free access to all of the stations.

Personally, I like All Quartets Radio. I'm listening to that right now. They play old, new, and obscure on that station. They just played a Rangers Quartet song from the late 1940s, which was followed by a song by Triumphant Quartet, then the Toney Brothers. They play little known groups too. I listen for several hours at a time and don't hear any repeats, which I think is great.

Right now L5 is on there.

I believe you're allowed to mention favorite websites and companies as long as they're not yours. When they're yours, then it's definitely advertising.

Thanks for all the input. I'm listening right now to the all quartet station.

I'll second that!!!

WFGW is the BEST!!!!
The music is GREAT, and almost nonstop....very few interruptions.
And I also appreciate the crawl at the bottom of the window with the Artist and name of the song playing.

I have heard wfgw.org was started by Dr. Billy Graham as another means of spreading the gospel! I agree it is the Best!

You're close.......the "FG" in WFGW stands for Franklin Graham....Billy's son.
