woodwind228 -> So what are y'all doing? (5/10/2008 3:56:53 PM)

I've been messing around on the internet a bit until these two batches of soap I got started are ready for the next step. Once molded though, I plan to get out in the yard to plant some stuff. I just heard it was supposed to rain later so I reckon I'll need to put a wiggle in it when I get out there. Real exciting way to spend a Saturday, huh?! [&:]

Are y'all doing anything fun and exciting today?

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/10/2008 4:08:24 PM)

I'll be baking later. Have to have dessert for tomorrow!

trinigirl722 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/10/2008 4:29:53 PM)

Those all sound like TOTALLY fun ways to spend Saturday!! Making soap ... wow!

I'm spending Saturday doing housecleaning and paperwork. Not as much fun.[&o] But I am getting ready to work out, then call my dad, then go to a Rebecca St. James and Evie concert. Those will be a lot more fun![:)]

woodwind228 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/10/2008 5:17:13 PM)

Yeah, the concert sounds like lots of fun. At least the latter part of your day will be more fun than the first!

........ I dropped my youngest off at school at 4:30 am, did some stuff for my mom, mowed my lawn, took a shower, came to the coffee shop, had a meeting with another prison ministry lady, found lyrics to a double cd, revised several forms... and am now working on my last cup of coffee... I'm ready to go home and put my jammies on!!!!

.......... [:D]

I'm trying to find a place but it is impossible and I feel like giving up because it seem like no one don't want anybody with a past who tries to do right and is working a steady job. My mom is worried, she's older and its like things are not going in a timely manner. I don't know at this point. I guess God is destined me for failure here--I should not be talking like that, but it seems like there is a roadblock......

I'm sooo sorry, Gayle... what a bummer....

You know... God provided for you last time.... He will again....

Sometimes the footwork on our side is a little frustrating.....

You can do it!!

Blessings!

Don't give up!! Remember James 1:2-4 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (NIV)

Also remember that God never gives you more than you can handle! Ever. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. There's a reason you're going through this so instead of being discouraged, ask God what it is that he wants you to learn from this.

Jer 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

God does not destine you for failure! Keep the faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. I'll be praying for you.

Gayle, have you talked to your pastor and the leaders in your church yet?

I spend the day "workin' the business ... " Tonight I am pulling my last 40-hour week at my job job ... so the only viable alternative I can see is to step up the "fun job" (direct sales.)

*sigh* The day is almost done. I worked mandatory overtime. While it wasn't exactly exciting, it was fun enough. I don't understand why it was mandatory, though. I find the corporate world much "busier" than need be. I wish people would slow down. When I came home I walked my usual 7 mile route, because I'm in training... listened to Third Day along the way... had another talk with God... was greeted by the all the usual friendly dogs. Pretty typical stuff.

My Saturday was productive on several fronts. I did some housecleaning, ran some errands and got the laundry done. But a couple of other things I'd hoped to get accomplished fell by the wayside for various reasons.

I'd better sign off if I want to get up and go to church tomorrow morning. Goodnight everyone.

The concert was absolutely wonderful! Evie was a hoot, and the whole thing was very inspirational. It ended up being a time really led by the Holy Spirit. Yes, the latter part of my day was definitely the best part.

Focusing -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/11/2008 1:54:14 AM)

We spent the afternoon by a pool at a resort with family. It was okay. I'm not a water person or a sun person, so I don't get excited about such things. [8D]

We had some laughs, and it was a good time catching up on *stuff*.

Played chess over dinner.

Single4Life -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/11/2008 2:20:12 AM)

Well, I saw this post early on Sunday AM, so I'll share what I'm doing today...Mother's Day.

I actually am having to work through the night tonight, so I'll catch a nap when I get home. That means I'll miss church this weekend, but we should be worshipping every day...not just Sundays. I'll head over to my parents' and cut down a dead tree that has been an eyesore to my mom, then I'll dig up some roots so they can do some planting later. (It would be too much of a strain on them to do that much physical labor at their age.)

At some point, I'll have to go buy a Mom's Day present. I have an idea of what to get her, but I have no idea where to buy it! I did create a presentation package for my dad to give to my mom. He wanted something creative, so I wrote a Mom's Day poem for her. We'll do a family dinner, then I'll probably have to get some more work done.

broyce1981 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/11/2008 5:35:58 AM)

I will be watching the final day of the English Premier League soccer today. Of course, that means I'll have to go visit another church that has an early service.

teaspoon61 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/11/2008 8:18:04 PM)

I've had a very productive weekend. Not necessarily fun - but productive. I've cleaned the whole house and managed to watch two DVD's I've been wanting to see.

I watched Becoming Jane on Friday night and There Will Be Blood on Saturday.

Wow! That does sound productive! Wish I could say the same. But I did have a fun day today -- went to church and then to a festival in the old part of downtown where I toured one of the first homes built in the area, then visited a gallery where I saw some beautiful oil paintings by an artist friend. It was a great way to spend the Lord's Day!

woodwind228 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/12/2008 10:58:59 AM)

I had a good day too, though not as productive as I would've liked. It was soooooooooo windy yesterday though that a trellis in by backyard fell down. I haven't been out to check it yet today but I hope it didn't destroy any plants in the process. It's windy today too so I'll likely wait until tomorrow to get it back up. Bummer.

teaspoon61 -> RE: So what are y'all doing? (5/12/2008 7:49:46 PM)

Yes it was productive. It was nice to have a clean house and kids bedrooms clean with beds made, even though it was for only a few hours!! [;)][:D]

I totally need to do some spring cleaning!! I've been doing so much in the yard that my house kinda took the back burner. I can relate to things being clean only for a short time. I had started making good progress the other day but almost as soon as I sat down, well, that's all she wrote. It didn't last long either. So it goes. Maybe you could send some momentum over this way! [:D]
