Ooooh...I forgot that one. I love that one too.

Yes, I know God is in control. It's just so hard to see how He's going to work it all out, KWIM? But as we were talking about at Bible study last week, if we knew how it was going to work out, we'd only mess it all up anyway.

Oh my heck.

I love it! I'm keeping all of those in my secret funny sayings stash.

Donna, I love that attitude! You are in a tough spot Mama, and have a grace and strength that must be incredibly difficult to muster some days. Go on with your awesome self...God loves you and has some awesome plans for your family.

Oh...my...word! I haven't been in this thread in weeks and I show up just in time for open a can and frosts my cupcake.

((((Donna))))

My advice is document, document, document. Write down everything. When CPS figures out that this goof ball is a trouble maker, I bet they will close the case and her name will be mud down there.

If God wants your family to foster and/or adopt (and if He has given you that desire, He probably does), He will make this all work out.

When we went through the state adoption process, we heard some stories where prospective foster/adoptive families thought they would never be allowed to get children. Almost all of them had a happy ending. I know we're in different states, but there are kids out there who will need you and it's gonna work out. I'll be praying for you.

Donna, we have had CPS called twice (once by a doctor for refusing treatment which we did). They closed both cases as unfounded both times. Believe me, It won't come back to haunt you. If the caseworkers who were working with against us us on our adoptions could have used that against us, the would have, but they never knew about it because the only way it can be used is as a point of references as a pattern if they ever did find abuse or neglect, otherwise it is like those files never existed.

So you didn't have to tell them you had ever been reported?

We likely won't be ready to foster/adopt for at least 10 years, unless we do it as respite care only, but who knows what other stunts Nick's mom will pull in the next 10 years. I don't even want to think about it.

No, they don't ask if you have ever been reported. They want to know if you are currently the subject of an investigation or have been found guilty of abuse or neglect.

(((Donna)))

You ladies crack me up with your sayings...love it!

I am so glad to be home though I did have a lot of fun on the retreat. This their 3rd year doing this retreat which they call Generation Now and it is a new ministry the GA District is starting for women 20-30ish because they realized this age group was not getting ministered to like they should. I definitely know that I am not a woman who likes or enjoys being away from her family for even one night. Don't get me wrong I had a blast and I am glad I went. But, I was so ready to get back to them. The retreat was a lot of fun and my scrapbooking workshop was a hit. They have even asked if I would be interested in doing it again. The speaker was really good! Her name is Jennifer Spivey and she spoke on Esther which she has also written a book about as well. Well I need to go get ready for church so I will talk to you ladies later. Have a great day!!!

Chelle, I am like that too. One almost needs a crowbar to get me away from my family for a day and it doesn't happen for overnight unless I am with Russ and I usually end up IMing with the kids before the night is over. Poor Donna, I think she has been working on me for years now. She has gotten me to agree to taking a day off when I am recovered from my health issues.

Ah, yes, I've gotten you to agree...as long as you can bring two kids with you. And we still haven't done it yet (which I understand!), so you still have time to back out.

I am one who needs fairly regular time away from my family. I think it makes me personally a better mom and wife. Even with that though, going away for two nights this week...I'm sure I'll be calling to check on them. It's harder for me to leave the little ones (Hannah and Levi) than the others because I know they still need me quite a bit and Levi especially won't understand where I am and when I am coming back.

I believe that I need time away from my family also. Even if its a trip to the grocery store without the kids. It does help me at least. I went away for two weeks in January not by choice but because my aunt needed help but by then I was chomping at the bit to get home. She wanted and needed me to stay longer but I just couldn't do it. She understood but I still felt bad.
Does any one ever feel like they need to be in twelve different places all at once?? My mom claims that she can't get along without me, my aunt and cousin need me to be near them to help with my aunt, my Bil and Sil said that they need some help with hubby's mom and hubby's grandma needs someone to take care of her she doesn't want to go into a nursing home but she is getting where she cant live alone, and of course hubby and kids need me. It makes me sad to know that so many people need and want my help and there is not anything i can do about it.
Oh well sorry for the long post.
Chelle glad you had fun at the retreat and your scrapbooking went so great. That is great they asked if you wanted to do it again.

Russ' Aunt Shirley really needed us way more than we could help so we bought house big enough for her to ive with us. The plan worked better than we had imagined because since then my mom and brother has also moved in. If ya can't be in more than one place at a time, then bring all the places to you.

yeah, there is that. LOL. I really am intending to do that though. I think that it will be fun. I must admit that it does make me feel edgy if I think about it as time away instead of just visiting.

not much.....yet another quiet day here at home doing not much of anything. Let's see...so far the highlight of my day has been...pulling off the pedals of the roses Paul got me last week (so they can dry out...I save all the rose pedals he gets me and use them as potpourri). We watched "The Truman Show" on tv....that just went off. Paul is folding laundry now...nothing much to do. House is clean (not "in-law visiting" clean, but clean and doesn't really need to be cleaned...except the cars in the middle of Jack's floor). I am bored bored bored. I finished the project I was working on the past few days (a wooden block calendar that I painted to match the kitchen). I really hate being so pregnant that I can't move or breathe...makes life really dull and boring. I would love to be out working in the garden, but unfortunately I can't handle that right now. I could barely handle getting on (and off) the floor to organize the dvd's and vcr tapes earlier today.

We're going to the hardware store later today for drywall and lumber for the wall my dad's building for us this week for the baby's room. So I'm waiting around for that!

((((((((((((Sarah))))))))))))) That's how I was at the end last pregnancy. I remember one time I got stuck on the floor and could not get up because I hurt so bad. You're almost done, Momma! Hang in there!

We were napping, and now I am freezing. I also had some funky dreams, but that may have been the result of falling asleep watching Animal Planet.

Brian and Noah are out working on my mom's car. My dad thinks there is some kind of time pressure to get it done, totally forgetting that I can take my mom to work and pick her up if Brian can't finish it tonight. He is getting more and more difficult to deal with lately, taking it out most on my mom and now on Brian, who fixes their cars for free to begin with.

Paul had the day off yesterday so we had friends take Judah for a few hours and we went to see Prince Caspian. Loved it! And loved sitting through a whole movie holding the hubby's hand

After the movie we made a quick stop at a grocery store to get some FUZE drinks - I had coupons for .50 cents off one, the drinks were on sale for $1.00 and the store doubles coupons - with tax the drinks ended up being 1.5 cents each, and they're usually $1.40!

We then picked Judah up and headed down town for a street festival. Not quite sure what it was exactly - I think there'd been an air show earlier in the day, and there was a concert going on after we left. We just wandered around the booths looking, talking and letting Judah try cotton candy

Judah was wiped out by the time we got home, so we put him to bed and then ended the night watching another movie together. It was a great day!

I walked so much yesterday tho that today I am so stiff and sore!! I haven't walked that much since before I was pregnant, and while it is a healthy sort of stiffness I'm feeling, I feel wiped out too! Paul's working today, so Judah and I are taking it easy.

If anyone is curious what Nick ate over the weekend...

5/16...biscuit, sausage gravy, hashbrowns, milk, 2 chocolate chip cookies, 3 freezer pops
5/17...banana, cereal, milk, yogurt, movie popcorn, fruit snack, soda, ice cream (he had a movie/ice cream date with Grandma and Grandpa...I promise that is not his usual lunch ), ham sandwich, animal crackers, 5 freezer pops
5/18...cinnamon roll, banana, milk, apple, brownie (church cafe), pb&j (his fave), carrots and dip, yogurt, chicken sandwich (chicken breast...the good stuff...not deli meat), peach, peanut butter crackers, 5 freezer pops

That doesn't count any juice or water...I could never keep up with that consumption! LOL I also just realized we were almost completely devoid of veggies this weekend, which is not normal for us, but there were not good sales last week, so I didn't buy much. I also didn't feel well a couple nights and Brian was occupied in the garage all weekend, so we went with simple and easy for Mom.

We definitely fed him this weekend (as opposed to all the ones we haven't, I'm sure ). He actually ate more than he usually does, because he was outside running around except for today (rainy).
