Thank you for the kind words. I always wanted to meet Dottie. When my mother called me to let me know what was going on it stunned me. My Loverly knew something was wrong, but not what it was.

Thanks for all the updates. Was without power again for over 2 hours because of winds.
Still praying for all families involved. So, so sad. From all the illnesses Miss Dottie has gone thru and now this. Oh my. God Bless.

Oh--and if anyone has a non-copyright protected picture of Ms. Rambo, you might want to put it on her Wikipedia article. They need one.

"If that isn't love" is my favorite... My mom used to tell me about the time (1969?) I was around 2 years old. Mom was part of the local talent on the 700 Club telethon and Dottie was there (the Rambos). Dottie offered to watch me while mom took a turn at the phones. I wish I remembered that... Very special lady... I bet my mom and grandma met her at the gate...

Wow...I watching the tribute on TBN and they had on the scroll, "In loving Memory of Dottie Rambo... and I found out after I got home from evening service tonight.

My heart is very heavy right now because I watched Dottie's struggles with her back issues and her trumphant comeback (that was the special that was showed tonight) to performing. This woman was a phenominal songwriter in the SG and the christian music community. This woman also wrote songs of the hope of heaven, which many of the songwriters does not hardly write anymore.

She is with Jesus now (and with Buck also), the person who she sang about, is in the streets of the city and that the only hope that we have.

My prayers are with the family, especially with Reba and Dony at this time.

I met Dottie here in Louisville, KY when she came and performed at my bookstore and then at my church the next night. Larry Ferguson and I used to hang out all the time and had many good times talking about Southern Gospel Music and going to concerts. He and I belonged to the same church for a little while. I only have his cell phone and his e-mail address which are two forms that are obviously not going to be used for a while, so it is frustrating for me as a friend to not be able to do anything, or even get in contact with the family. However, I know God is in control and I will just keep praying for a quick recovery and I will soon catch up with him and his family later. Larry is a good guy and his family is awesome too. Just my two cents.

We first heard about what happened at the Karen Peck concert tonite. We are very sorry. She was a very talented and legendary singer/songwriter.

We hosted Dottie recently at our church. What a glorious time we had, and our hearts are sad because of this tragic news. Prayers are offered up to the Father from Church on the Rock Pascagoula [MS] for all the families. Dottie's music and ministry have been legendary ... we've lost an angel and a warrior in God's Kingdom. See ya in heaven, Dottie!

Just got home from the hospital.

They are going to do surgery on Larry in the morning which will require wiring his mouth shut for about 6 weeks. His father made it in today.

Chris may have a broken sternum so keep him in your prayers.

Ronnie is still critical. He was ejected and broke the steering wheel.

Please keep Judy in your prayers has she is having to deal with a lot now.

The oldest son is still admitted in the hospital.

The bus was in bad shape. It trully is a miracle that anyone survived. Her guitar only has a small crack on the back.

Please pray for the survivors. Larry and Judy are grieving over Mrs. Dottie. They were family.

When I think of Dottie I am in awe of the number of lives she has touched...Last night TBN had a tribute to Dottie from a past show but it was a blessed assurance to me that Dottie will be rejoicing in Heaven...I pray for Ronnie, Chris, Larry and his family that God's healing hand touches each one...My prayers and thoughts are with Dottie's beautiful, loving family and I know God will give them the grace and comfort for the coming days...Another Saint has gone home and she will be missed but never forgotten..God Bless

I am extremely saddened by this whole situation. Dottie was like a mother to me and I remember the many times when I was a child touring with my family, The Cook Family Singers, when I would be so tired and lay my head in Dottie's lap and she would sing to me until I fell asleep. I am sad that I have lost my friend. I am sad that many more did not get to know her like the rest of us did.
I was looking foward to seeing her on June 14, 2008 in Texas when we both were to be inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. (EDITED TOS 13)
I will forever be blessed to have known such a sweet human being and such a strong warrior in the army of Chist!

Dottie was scheduled to be in Atlanta this Wednesday to tape a tv program for the Christian Television Channel. They were doing a program called 'Women Of Gospel'

We had met and talked with Dottie on several occasions. Looking back I found photos where she appeared at the World Premier in 2003. She often appeared there. One of the highlight evenings was new years several years ago when Dottie and The Old Time Gospel Hour did a program in Dalton. They did a concert followed by breakfast at Ryman Hall (next door to the church) and after breakfast she sat around on the stage just talking and singing more of her famous songs. That was a great personal evening.

Our prayers goes out for her family and the others that were injured in the accident.

Um, Mr. Buck isn't dead. He made as statement on one of the 'other' websites about the death of his former wife. No doubt he was terribly saddened by this incident.

I heard the news at church yesterday, but couldn't go online until now. (our DSL modem went out, and were waiting for the new one to come in!)

As many of you know, this happened in my next of the woods. The storms were very rough. High winds were the cause of much damage in the area. In fact, my dad and brother were on their way home Saturday evening and were passing near Mt. Vernon on I-44. They said that debre was flying in the air around them.

I'm saddened by the news...

Sorry--my mom reminded me about that also last night when we talked about it.

Anyways, I was over on You Tube and I was watching performances of her and it brought a lot of memories when I was following her career. As a CCM/Urban Gospel fan, her music I believe touched all generes, I think because of the impact of it. You see, Dottie was a legend not only in SG, but in Christian music in general.

This reminds us that we need to show love to our legends, whether it is CCM, Gospel or SG before they leave us because many of those legends, if it was not for them, many of these stars in all genres would not be there today because they stand on the sholders of these legends.

I just hope next year the GMA will give her props as they did with Larry Norman, another great songwriter this year.
