Bob Barr is running as an Independant. Will it ruin John Mc Cain and the Repulican Party in November?

I don't believe I can come up with a more strenous adverb than absolutely; I'll go with that as well.

How about absopositively?

HighPlainsDrifter -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/12/2008 6:42:07 PM)

No, but I'd rather vote for Bob Barr than either McCain or anything the donks throw up for a candidate.

thomas2008 -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/13/2008 7:36:30 AM)

Those of us who really love America and stand up for what this nation is really about could only pray that this would damage McCain. However, we would then be left with whoever the person will be for the Democrats.

Unfortunately, due to the corruption in our wonderful election process, Mr. Bob Barr won't get enough votes to even steal it from either side.

It is a sad reality, but in 2008 it really doesn't matter who we vote for because we are headed to disaster either way.

Wow, you have to want to damage McCain to really love America? I guess I never saw the two as directly connected.

No! John McCain will lose because he ALWAYS defends Obama. He might as well endorse him.

lightshineon -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/13/2008 5:07:31 PM)

The wooden-eyed look I stated before. Jaun, has problems with EQ, or something? I have not pegged it yet, but it is there. I will vote for him though for lack of of options.

Who is Bob Barr? [8|]

I don't think it'll amount to a hill of beans. McCain's got my vote.

PolarBear -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/13/2008 10:03:11 PM)

I need to learn more about him. Perhaps I'll vote for him; perhaps not. Probably doesn't matter, McCain should win Texas big anyway.

Perhaps President Obama will send you a nice box of Whitman Samplers for Christmas as a small token of his gratitude.

HighPlainsDrifter -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/14/2008 1:41:45 PM)

The last donk to win SD was FDR. I don't think Obama will be thanking me anytime soon.

thomas2008 -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/16/2008 7:09:12 AM)

Well I think on the ballots where it lists the candidates they should have another option..."None of the above."

I believe anyone who loves America and really wants to see change should vote for it. When you vote for McCain or Obama your not getting anything different. Still getting the same old garbage. Higher taxes, bigger government, policing the world, etc. The list goes on.

A third party vote or no vote is a vote for Obama (or Hillary).
The next president may get to appoint 3 to 5 US Supreme Court Justicies.
Do you want that done by Obama or McCain?

Obama says his US Supreme Court justices will decide their cases by using their empathy not that a law is unconstitutional or not.

It's sad to think the stongest reason I have for leaning toward McCain are judicial appointments.
I think many conservatives will vote for him simply because of those appointments.

Will a democratic senate confirm them?
I think we cuurrently have over 20 federal judicial vacancies. The senate should be quartered for denying people their due process.

Barr would have the same problem.

Then by what your saying is that I might as well not vote at all. I'm sorry, but why should I compromise my views by voting for McCain, when I can't see anything that I agree with him on. And the same goes for Obama or even Hillary for that matter. Like I said, what they should do is add another option to the ballots that says, "None of the above", because that is what I'm looking at. I can't see anyone on the Democrats side or the Republican side worth voting for. Like I said, we're going to get the same old stuff.

Oh, and we want John McCain appointing justices? I think, no. The ones that Bush has appointed hasn't done much for America. Like I have said before also, Americans in this country don't have a voice. We are not a Democratic society, if we were we would see more parties given the equal amount of attention that they deserve. We're stuck with the same old stuff. It's like watching reruns.

But thats fine. I don't care. I vote, I stand up for what I believe in. If voting for someone means that that gives Obama in the office, I don't care. I'm not going sit and compromise what I believe in. If I voted for John McCain, I would feel bad. It's like when Judas betrayed Jesus, in the end he felt really bad. If I voted for John McCain I believe that I would be betraying America, and I'm not going to do it.

Do you want Obama's Supreme Court?
For example, the Califonia Supreme Court just ignored the voice of the voters and made gay marriage legal in that state?

Do you want a SCOTUS that will make gay marriage legal in all states?

PhunkD -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/16/2008 9:53:53 PM)

It's too late. Bush already ruined things for the GOP/McCain.

AmericanCeasar -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/23/2008 3:11:43 PM)

You are all assuming that Bob Barr will win the LP nomination. He is facing a formidable challenge from former US Senator and Democratic Presidential candidate Mike Gravel. Even though Gravel is a liberal with a libertarian bent, some Libertarians are giving him a look.

If Barr wins the nomination, I think Gravel will seek the Reform or Green Party nominations and do some damage with Ralph Nader on the Democratic side.

I thought Alan Keyes was a shoe-in for the Constitution Party nod. However, they chose Chuck Baldwin. I understand that Keyes wasn't in total allingment with the CstP platform. However, the CstP would have gained more ground with Keyes than Baldwin.

earlbooks -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/25/2008 2:06:57 AM)

When I read that Bob Barr was running as a Libertarian, I knew that it meant trouble for McCain. If Barr wins the L.P. nomination, I believe that many G.O.P.'ers who don't see McCain as a true conservative will pull the lever for Barr. This is a year where there are many voters who will no longer vote as "party faithfuls". The same will be true for Obama backers, if Clinton wins over the SuperDelegates.

PolarBear -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/26/2008 7:29:47 AM)

Barr now has won the LP nomination. Good write-up on today's http://www.electoral-vote.com/

He's pro-life, unlike most libertarians. I'm impressed. I will have to pray hard about this.

I agree that it would be better to have McCain pick justices than Obama (by far), but maybe we're just at the point where -- who cares, the American people want depravity, so give it to them and let them get what they deserve. Such will not side-track God's Kingdom, which is all that is truly important.

A large number of people voting for Barr would send a powerful message.

jfwink -> RE: Bob Barr Running As A Libetrarian-Will This Ruin Mc Cain and The GOP? (5/28/2008 1:32:05 AM)

Barr running will no more hurt McCain then Ralph Nader and the Green Party will hurt Obama. They will likely cancel each other out taking in maybe half a percent each.
