How many books do you read a year?

StephK -> RE: How many books do you read a year? (5/12/2008 10:51:45 PM)

I just started a 50 book challenge a little while ago and have read 11 books so far. I'm working on whittling down some must read books both on the banned books list and the 1001 books list.

I think you need some higher choices.

I usually read @60ish fiction books a year. I don't count rereads or nonfiction (unless its particularly interesting) in that number.

I know there are a few people on here that read more then that.

I think I'd read 2 book so far this year until last week. Now I've read 7 [:)]. I try my best to read lots of books but I seem to have less time.

200+

Your poll choices don't go high enough. I've already read 85 this year so far.

I never counted until I got some Facebook application that keeps track of what I've read. So far I'm up to 17 this year. I aim for one book a week. Some take me longer, but then there are weeks like this one, where I'm on my 3rd one.

These days, about 25. Years ago, I read 70 or more, but then I got a job.

I read about 50-80 books a year, and this is a lower amount than I used to read, but then I'm rereading a lot of books for homeschooling. My husband reads a little more than I do. I read more non-fiction and he reads more fiction although we both love great storytelling and are always up for reading a good story.

24 so far this year. I'm hoping to make it to 70 or so by the end of the year.

This past 7 months I have read around 30-35 books, I don't really keep count, I have had years when I have read none, so I guess it depends. Right now I am reading 4 and have about 25 more to read, hopefully I will get to them all this year.

HisCovenant -> RE: How many books do you read a year? (5/15/2008 5:12:17 PM)

About 25.

wshepherd -> RE: How many books do you read a year? (5/15/2008 5:48:15 PM)

I would say probably about 50 a year. Mostly non-fiction.

buckifn -> RE: How many books do you read a year? (5/17/2008 5:29:06 AM)

I've never kept count...not sure I could keep up a list but I know at least 40 this yr so far... but I have slacked off this month

When Hockey season ends my book count will increase, over the course of a year about 30.

I'd say I'm definitely over 100 per year. Many of those are repeat reads, of course. I love to read and have many, many books to choose from and buy new ones whenever I can.

I average 5 books a week. Some weeks are less depending on sick kids or really busy but I read instead of watching TV.
