Do you hire someone to treat your lawn? Or do you get those 4 step bags from the store? The crabgrass, weed, fertilizer thingies. We've been pretty much doing them ourselves for the last couple of years but I'm thinking of calling one of those places like Trugreen. It seems like the lawns, at least in my neighborhood, who are getting the services have greener grass and no ugly dandellions. So is it more practical to have a service or will it cost me more money?

We had a lawn service for a couple of years but then tried the Scotts four step program and our lawn looked better when we used the four step and did it ourselves.

We tried a couple of other brands of the four steps but found Scotts to work the best.

TruGreen was too expensive for us. We use Naturescape.

We don't use anything on our lawn. After a good soaking rain the weeds grow so nice and big. The bare spots in the lawn give the lawn so much more breathing area. And oh yes, the wild purple violets growing in the lawn really look great. :)

The birds really love our lawn. The weeds are a constant source of food for them. They love the seeds.[sm=hammerhead.gif]

My Mom has a lot of those and I'm not sure why...but they make me itch.
