horse sweat and leather reminds me of my childhood, helping out on a ranch

Old Spice makes me remember my grandfather. So does the smell of leaves burning, or pipe smoke.

Pan frying hamburgers with onions brings me back to my kitchen when I was a kid. That's how my mother always cooked our burgers.

Sandalwood incense reminds me of my years as an altar boy.

Bazooka bubble gum makes me think of little league. Somebody's mother always bought a box.

Lilacs remind me of my great-grandmother's house with a big lilac bush in the side yard.

Diesel fuel reminds me of the submarine.

Burnt clutch and smoking tires remind me of my youth. [sm=biggrin.gif]

Bus exhaust always reminds me of mid-town Manhattan for some reason.

A burning smell always takes me back to that time I exploded corn dogs in the microwave. Or when I got bombarded by a pack of Saturn Missles.

Cow poo. I was about 12 years old when we were relocating to a new town about 4 hours away. On one particular trip to this new town I was sitting in the back of the car thinking of how I wasn't looking forward to moving and meeting new friends. All of the sudden I smell bad gas. Thinking my step dad had just broke wind I quickly rolled down the window to get a breath of fresh air. I was in for a rude awakening. When I finished rolling down the window the smell had become so much worse. [&:] I rolled the window up faster than it took me to roll it down. I had just been introduced to the pungent smell of a cattle feed yard. My parents were laughing so hard they began to cry. Now everytime I drive past a feed yard or see a cattle truck a small smile will come to my face with that memory.

Believe it or not,moth balls bring lots of memories of my Grandparents house. Gran used moth balls under the sofa and a few other places. I wonder if people still use them today.

The smell of wet, old pizza in my sister's car reminds me of our trip to Charleston three years ago. Now I know what happens when ya leave the windows down and a storm comes through causing you to run down the quickly flooding streets barefoot while your cold pizza of a breakfast gets all soaked.

One of my shampoos remind me of camp. I have no idea why.

And then Stetson Black reminds me of mah fella.

The fresh smell of clothes hung on the line always remind me of laundry day growing up.

Mom would use an old wringer washer to wash all our clothes and hang the sheets and everything on the line. At night I would cuddle up into those fresh smelling sheets and pillow cases and drink in the smell. Loved it!

Incense..going to church as a child.
That smell always gave me a headache.
Burning leaves..growing up as a child.Oh the carefree days of youth
Fresh cut grass..the summers outside playing
Fresh bedding..helping mom do the laundry and hanging it out on the line. Yup, with that old wringer washer. Our job was to pull the clothes from the wringer and place them in the rinse tubs..just to do it all over again.
Cow manure..washing my husbands clothes after work. He fixes farm equp.
Fresh cut hay.. going out to visit my in-laws. Also driveing around on a summer evening.
Baby powder..being a mom
Evening in Paris perfume..my mom

One smell to get (usually) the male persuasion out of the house is Perm your hair ladies. Home kit. almost guarantee to drive that man out. except during super bowl where the male feats of wonder can be measured and tested[:D]

Old Spice definitely reminds me of dad.

Garlic and onions or peach pie remind me of my mother. A mixture of Youth Dew and Chloe also reminds me of my mother. But I don't ever smell that one except when I'm at my mother's house. It is distinctly her.

Sure deodorant reminds me of when I started dating my husband. I asked him about his cologne, and it was Sure. [&:]

Skin So Soft reminds me of my Aunt Bess who was a wonderful Christian woman and the most instrumental human being in my childhood besides my parents. When I smell that stuff, it always puts me at ease.

Fresh mown grass reminds me of summer days as a child when I didn't have to concern myself with anything more than cleaning my room.

Cachet perfume reminds me of my sophomore year in high school. I worked at a drugstore, and that was the most popular fragrance after Charlie, which I learned to hate. Thankfully, it's not too popular anymore.

Sweet Honesty reminds me of junior high. My best friend's mother sold Avon, and my best friend doused herself daily in that stuff. Reminds me of when I got into my mother's Shalimar. Even now almost 40 years later I get nauseous when I smell that perfume.

Wind Song reminds me of elementary school. My favorite teacher wore this stuff, and I loved the commercials.

Are those perfumes even sold anymore? And was Matchabelli really a prince? [8D])

Now you got me thinking about Evening in Paris...and how I hope Paris really didn't smell like that. But the bottles were really pretty.

The smell of lavendar reminds me of my great grandmother.

And the smell of fresh fish right off the boat smells like my great-grandaddy who was a fisherman in FL. [:D]
