AboundinginHisGrace -> Something Interesting I discovered (5/15/2008 11:44:10 AM)

I am not sure where this post is supposed to go but here goes. I was reading through John earlier this week and I noticed something that was really interesting to me. Everyone is familier with Peter denying Christ 3 times. Then in John 21:15-17 John says: 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. What I get out of this is that ,eventhough, Peter denied Jesus 3 times. He still loved him and trusted him with his sheep. I love how Jesus gave him 3 more chances to make up for the 3 times he denied him. I see that Jesus is telling him, I know you denied me 3 times but I still love you. Isn't it wonderful that we worship a God that is so loving. This passage really spoke to me, and showed me how much God loves us.
