So, it is less than a week until my due date, and we are thinking of changing the baby's middle name. We are definitely going to use David as a first name, but William was never a name either of us loved. It was just kind of a compromise name.

LOL - I say pick a new name if you're not 100% sold on William. We haven't chosen the girl's middle name or the version of our boy's name yet ... I think we're going to wait until June Bug's here to pick that stuff!

Go for it, Emily...he's not even here yet! I've heard of people changing birth certificates months after baby is born.

We changed our boy name after Levi was born. We had Gideon Joseph as our pick before we went in and decided on Levi Joseph instead.

We were pretty set on Esther Joy for a girl, but now I'm leaning toward Esther Hope... And Gideon Micah if it's a boy.

Emily I reserve the right to change her first name at her birth if we want to. Grace is not changeable though :)

Donna I like Esther Hope myself.

Change it if you would like! We called DD "Natalia" until the week before I was induced then I just felt like it wasn't right for her and we went back to the drawing board. Gabriella definitely suits her much better so I know we made the right choice :)

My parents called my baby brother Levi at the end of my mom's pregnancy and even right after he was born, but decided he just wasn't a Levi, so they ended up deciding on Micah instead! He's definitely a Micah.

Oh. I always say "baby brother". He's now nearly 17.

Hey Emily! How are you feeling these days?

The one part of pregnancy I remember all too well is those last few weeks. I have been thinking of you and praying you don't go over your due date!

I say go for the change!

I secretly regret naming my son Jadon. I honestly wonder if that really should be his name, but that's null and void. It is his name simple as that. That name is so popular now. Girls even have that name. The only redemptive thing for me is that we spelled it with an "O" which is not popular at all.

I brought up that idea to Jason and well lets just say he's adamantly against that idea. He believes God gave him that name, he loves it, it's on his BC and SSN card so I just have to suck it up, lol.

We'd decided to call our son Jeremy, but when it came time to put his name down on the birth certificate we ended up going with Jeremiah. I am SO thankful we did that because that is the name he goes by (even though some call him Jeremy). His middle name changed a time or two & ultimately we decided not to go with the one we had decided upon because a former family member was using it for her son. I know God had that one all planned out for reasons I won't go into here.

Go with your "intuition"...wherever your heart is leading you. God already knows the name your little one will have. (((hugs)))

And ditto to what Ryanne said...although that might be a bit weird to change a little one's name after he's already had it for nearly 3 months.

Lol. You can always protest and call him Sam or Samuel. Your problem with having it be very popular with girls is why we(although mostly Micah) refuse to use "ambiguous" names.

I actually already thought about calling him Sam or Samuel! lol But, then I saw the look on Jason's face and figured I'd suck it up and wait until he's older to see what He wants to be called. At least I know our future kids (if we have them) will have definitive names - Benjamin Paul and Hadassah Joy.

Sorry Emily! How are you today? Have a good feeling on names yet?

I loved the name David Jeremiah, but then Chris said it was the name of some famous preacher or something. I also love the name David Isaiah, but our last name starts with a P and I don't want his initials to be DIP. We also have discussed the name David Nathaniel, but I'm just not sure. I don't know what the kid's name is going to be. LOL

Well, at first I loved the name Christopher David. Chris didn't like it because he said he doesn't like his name, it will be confusing when the baby is older and we get mail and phone calls for Chris P and won't know which one they are for, and he doesn't like the whole going by the middle name thing. So we started coming up with different names.

Chris recently told me that his mom keeps trying to get him to name the baby Christopher David. Every time she talks to him she brings it up. So now, no matter how much I liked the name, I refuse to use it.

ETA: I don't like the way David Christopher sounds with our last name.

Emily - hahaha, isn't it funny how our minds are made up when people (especially certain people) nag you about it?

I LOVE Benjamin as a first name. It's on MY list but not Jer's for a boy, he says it's too long. silly man.

There are days where I'm not totally into Isabel but Jeremy is in love with her name, "How's my Iz?" is his question like every time he walks in the door.

I have found with all my kids that there was a time I wasn't sure about their name fitting them right, or that it sounded weird. But you get used to them once they are born and here for a bit. Whatever name you choose will be just right.

I'm glad you said that...I secretly wish I would have named Jimmy "Robert Jeffery" instead of "Robert James". Jeff is my dad's middle name that he goes by. I felt bad about feeling that way until you said something. But, the cool thing is that Jimmy and Timmy rhyme.
