My heart goes out to all the Chapman family. I will be praying for God's comfort and healing for them. Thank God for people like Steven and Mary Beth who take children like Maria into their families so that they can learn of God's grace and know the embrace of her heavenly Father.

tmadamski, praying that the Comforter surrounds you.
As for the Chapmans, God gave you Maria for a time. She was blessed to have been loved on earth and to have a family she never would have had in China. Now she will forever wait for you in heaven.

This is a terrible tragedy. I am praying for this family.
I was wondering, I know Maria was adopted, are all of his kids adopted? I have seen a boy with him a picture and he looks like Steven.

His oldest three children(two sons and a daughter) are his birth children...the three youngest daughters were adopted.

It's such an unthinkable tragedy. My heart grieves for the family, and espically her brother. What a terrible burden he is bearing. I can't even begin to imagine what they are all going through. My prayers are with them this weekend as they deal with the unthinkable.

First of all, my heart and prayers are for SCC's family because it is a terrrible loss. But it is also a reminder for all of us to be careful when we go out of those driveways and not knowing that these children are outhere.

May God comfort the Chapman family, particularly the son. Only God knows the pain of such a terrible loss. They all must be devastated.
Having lost a child myself, I know how difficult it is to make sense of the whole situation. Please pray for the family and especially the young man who was driving the SUV, as he will need God's hand on him to bring peace and healing to his heart, as will the entire family.
May God grant that peace and comfort.

yes, how horrible that would be to run over a child. They were making a new device, that had an alarm when something was behind a large suvs and such. I wish they were required. I know Maria is with God, and bad things happen, and knowing God is able to even turn this around for good.

My heart breaks for the Chapman family, especially for their teenage son. He will have to deal with his emotions and grief for the rest of his life over this tragic accident. I pray God's loving arms are around him and will comfort him though this. I pray that that he will be able to come to grips with the fact that it was a horrific accident. We don't know why God allows these types of accidents, we only see in part but some day we will see the whole picture. Maria was able to see, feel and live in God's love while she was with the Chapman's. May God be glorified through this horrible accident.
