faroukfarouk,

It is truly not up to us to judge brother, but I feel if we step outside God's will for our lives, with premeditation, we become subject to his wrath. If it is driven by anything other than God it is a sin. God gave us free will with the intent to see how much rope we would take. Really, if we have six feet of rope tied around our neck, it makes sense to stay away from that ten-foot drop! I have seen some marvelous tattoos on some extremely beautiful women, but as I said earlier, most were done pre-salvation. These women seem embarrassed by them. My wife was. If led by the Holy Spirit, and for no other reason, it has to be blessed by God. We are in no position to doubt that. If it is self-motivated, it is self-centered and outside God's will.

P.S. thanks for the avatar change, she seems less edgy!

That doesn't surprise me.

Many ladies have it done, and feel comfortable with it, right?

The question some ppl would ask, is, does all the art work have to be secular? is there a potential for positive faith related ones?

Hey Faroukfarouk.

Do you own a tattoo parlor or something? You seem to take every opportunity to promote people getting tattoos.

Personally I'd rather women (Jordan Sparks) sing about Tattoos than getting them.

Actually, no. Getting them may be a bad idea for many people.

I guess part of my point is, if there is so much tattoo art out there, however, why should the message always be a secular one?

(Or to put it another way, it was William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army who said, Why should the devil have all the best tunes?)

Tattoos often look trashy on women. Of course, sometimes that cheap look seems sort of attractive, if you're in one of those moods.

I guess that's quite sweeping. Ladies often get them believing they are tasteful, and even elegant sometimes, but anyway...

You're right, but I did say "often," not "always." I have indeed seen beautiful women whose looks were only enhanced by elegant tattoos.

The tattoos that I think look best on women (and most men) are the ones with traditional Celtic or medieval or Asian designs, rather than the comic-book looking murals some people sport.

To each his own!

Well, that's why ladies get them...

The design on my arm was Asian, Chinese actually, tho I regret it now.

I personally don't find them attractive. Maybe partly because I don't have any myself and it's not something I'm into. Sometimes I'll see a young woman with a tattoo and wonder if it's something she'll be glad she did when shes 60.

I know my opinion is of little consequence, but personally, I just don't find tattoos on women to be at all attractive. I'm not saying it some sin thing. I just don't find them attractive. I also think that a lot of women - and men - will deeply regret some of their tattoos as they grow older.

That's my opinion, that's all.

Hi, I reckon also that it depends to some extent on the motive for getting them; some might be be moved to get one, bearing in mind even the possible disadvantage which you mention, if they feel it can enhance their ability to start faith-related conversations, right?

Oh sure, that's true.

I used to meet weekly with a pastor from the local Assemblies of God church. He had a huge multi-phase tattoo on each upper arm. One was a "Lion of Judah" theme, and the other was a "Soar on Eagle's Wings" theme. Personally, I thought they looked awful. But he loved them.

So that's why it's great that he had them, and I didn't!

I think there are some ladies (and I guess the thread is kind of specific to ladies) who might otherwise recoil or at least hesitate from the idea of getting one, but who, if they are aware of the sheer potential for faith related conversations, will be prepared to go the parlor to get tastefully tatted up with a little faith related one.

I guess it's not hard to figure, right?

Take care.

Alright, me and a friend were wondering. What do you guys think about tattoos on women?

Is it disgusting and a turn off, or can they be somewhat attractive?

I need answers! Now... POST!

They can be very beautiful and complimenting to a woman if they are done tastefully. I find it very attractive for a woman to have a tattoo on her lower back, ankles or feet. Something that looks elegant or lacy, something feminine.
