Kati - thanks for asking =) The exam went well - long, but well! I'm pretty sure I passed (lol - can't be TOO sure with these things!). My MIL's surgery also went well, which is wonderful! She's recovering and will be in the hospital for a few days.

June Bug was moving ALL NIGHT last night! I swear I woke up every hour and he/she was rolling and kicking away. Same with today during the exam. Lots of reassuring movement

Hooray for being done, Kim!

Do you do the computerized, minimum of 70 questions, maximum of 260 questions, you keep going until the computer has deemed you passed?

Glad you were able to finish your exam!

Okay, now out, little one! Or maybe let Mom sleep tonight and then come out tomorrow.

LOL - thanks, everyone!!

Kati - no, our's is a paper exam. 150 questions in the morning, 150 questions in the afternoon. It was LOOOOOONG. I wish it was computerized like that!!

Oi, my hips were KILLING me last night!!! I think it's because I was sitting in a stiff chair most of the day writing the exam and then sitting at the hospital waiting. I literally woke up every hour to turn over and crack my hips. No fun! But, one more day closer to meeting June Bug!!!

WHO IS IN THERE??!?!?!?

Glad you made it through the exam, Kim! When do you find out your results?
I'm not sure if I would have preferred a paper exam. I almost wonder if I would have! The minimum amount of questions is 70, so you know you will at least have that many. I TOTALLY took my time on my exam, even though I usually am a pretty fast test taker. After 2 1/2 hours the computer offers you a break...although you can also take a break at any time. I had just finished question 69 and the computer offerred me a break. I was like "NO WAY! I want to be DONE after 1 more question!" So I decided to do question #70, and if it didn't automatically shut off after that (meaning I was done), then I would take a break and come back and finish. Thankfully, it shut off after that one more question!
But I know people who had the 260 questions that were there for almost 8 hours!!!

That would be nice if only because you'd know you'd passed! We don't find out for 6 - 8 weeks!

Nope, you don't find out. You just know you either passed in 70, or failed in 70. You have to wait a few weeks too. Or you can pay extra $$$ to find out 2 days later. Or I waited until 3 days later when they updated the list of RN licenses on the state website. Since my name was on their as an RN, I figured I was ok.

Oh - so it's between 70 - 260 regardless? What if you get the first 70 right? I'm confused

LOL - that's sneaky!! I wish I had that option!! At least I'll have June Bug to occupy me during the wait!

Yup. If you get the first 70 right, or at least enough of the first 70, it shuts off. But you have no idea at the time if it shut off because you got enough right, or if it shut off because you did so horribly that there is no way you're going to pass. So it could be anywhere in that range...it might shut off at 138, but you still wouldn't know if it shut off because you passed or failed.

Maybe they do it that way to get you ready for the stress of nursing?

But everyone comes out saying they feel like they failed....the questions are SO hard!
How do you feel about your test? You don't seem too worried about it, but you do have a pretty big distraction right now, too.

I totally love just lifting my shirt and staring at my belly moving around. What fun!

Kati - that's crazy! I can't imagine not knowing if it was because you passed or failed that the program shut down! At least *tell* me!!

About our exam - the questions were hard, but I found that they were similar to the practice questions, so I'm pretty sure I did fine.

I LOVED looking at my belly moving like that. The feeling is the most incredible one ever. I miss that. but I know I'd miss that feeling even if we had 30 kids!

Hey Kim ... how hot did it get there today?? We were *supposed* to have a high of 23 ... but when we drove out to soccer this evening it was (gag) 35!!! ... So if Saturday is supposed to be a LOW of 31, and they were this far off on the predicted high ... I don't wanna leave my house!!!

It was actually chilly here today, but quite humid. I'm not quite sure of the actual temperature.

Alright - anybody toward the end get butterflies in their stomach? I've literally had butterflies in my stomach ALL DAY.

Alright ladies, opinion time! If June Bug's a girl, her name will be Eleanor - but hubby hates 'Lena' and I don't want either 'Ellie or 'Ella' for nicknames (because there are girls already named those in our 'circle').

Now don't laugh, but I've always loved the name 'Leia' (pronounced Lay-a ...). Do you think that's a valid short form of the name 'Eleanor'? Or are we reaching? I figure if 'Nora' or 'Lena' or 'Ella' could be, than Leia could be, too.

I like the name Leia ... (do you happen to be a Star Wars fan?? LOL) ... my one MIL is named Eleanor, and she and I have never seen eye to eye, so I'm not partial to the full name Eleanor (even though I like the Beatles and they sang Eleanor Rigby). This MIL has told dh on more than one occasion that he wasn't planned / was a mistake, etc (he's the first born). However, I'm also a big fan of using a person's full name (just one of my sticky points ... which apparently my kids have picked up on ... Jacob gets quite upset if someone calls him Jake!) I know ... not much help, eh?!?!!?!?!? So my opinion is I like the name Leia, but as a full name, not an abbreviation.

I think you can call her whatever you want to call her. (I have a friend who's name is Lina....pronounced like Linus on Charlie Brown, but with an A on the end)

I like Leia too, but it doesn't seem like a shortened form of Eleanor, only because you don't hear Leia in there anywhere.

But like Sarah said, you can call her whatever you want to. She's your kid.

I have a friend who named her child Joel (the 3rd or something) and his "street name", as she put it, is "Bauer" pronounced like bower... as in take a bow after a performance. You can really nickname her anything you like. =)

David and I were going through the names in my family... and none of them make sense.
cousin David = Pete
cousin Ronald = Jamie (although more spanish accent on the name, and no... not a drop of spanish blood in any of us)
and there are more.... many more

Basically... do what you like. =)

Hmm ... I just want to avoid the whole "My name is Eleanor, but people call me _______." We're really hung up on what to nickname her. Hubby even suggested moving Eleanor to the middle name so that we don't have to worry about it. Why can't he like the name Lena??!?!?

Leia Eleanor S_______. Does Leia Eleanor sound horrible together?

our oldest goes by Jake...he doesn't tell people his name is Jacob and that he goes by Jake...he just tells them his name is Jake.

just wait til she comes....the name that best fits will jump out at you (and it might not even be one that you are thinking of at this time)
