Obama may be just the one to start such a program in the USA and it'll all be in the name of "global care and concern". Where have any of the candidates said anything about forced birth control? This kind of program would never fly and would be political suicide. It would be unconstitutional, to start with. You have a point. Also, fuel and food rationing would "never fly and would be political suicide." and "...unconstitiutional." Fuel and food rationing would be constitutional. It happened during WWII and I am not aware of any challenges that were even close to being successful. A law telling adults if they can or can not have children and how many would most likely be shot down. There is plenty of caselaw that indicates this, comrade. Again, who has said anything about forced birth control? quote:
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times… and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said. I don't see where this is not true. The question then becomes what, if anything, should be done? No one ever said anything about forced birth control on here. I'm just reminded of that when I see "China"...especially these days when many Chinese families have just lost their only child. After having that one kid they're allowed to have, and many having been sterilized so they'll have no more, it's a haunting tragedy. So there ya go...that's it. Twisted as it may be, that's my logic! [8|] As for what's constitutional and what's made into law, we know the courts are making law these days...not even congress, really, so we have no say! There was a day when people would say the same thing about sodomite marriage...that it "would most likely be shot down". Yet here we are. And please don't call me comrade. [:(]
