Sometimes, like once a month or so, I'll have a dream and then a week later it happens. Sometimes it happens sooner, other times later. It is usually is just random bits of dialog but one time I dreamed of getting hit by a car and then later, when that started to happen, I knew when to move out of the way. Is there anything in the Bible about this? Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes. Usually I have a longer delay than a week, but I know what you are talking about. In the secular world this is called Deja Vu, but I'm convinced it is God giving prophetic insight to the near future. Honestly, when stuff like that happens remember to thank God for speaking to you and invite Him to do it more.

For a slightly comical response... I would suggest avoiding pizza right before bed.

After reading the topic, I was a little scared and almost didn't read the post. lol... I thought you predicted something happening in the future concerning the end times. Phew!

But anyway... I think that's pretty cool. Do you ever dream about other people and events pertaining to their lives?

I have no idea if a dream is simply a dream or foreshadow until it happens. And no, the dreams are only about events concerning my life. I have had some dreams about myself and based off of my appearence I am ten years older. But I have no way of knowing what type of dream that is.

Had a fairly profound instance of it once.

First, I virtually never remember my dreams, and when I do, they're just inane.

One Friday night in the spring of 1994, however, I had a clear dream that Richard Nixon had died. That was about as weird as they come, I figured. But when I woke up, it was so real in my head that I wasn't sure if I had seen it on the news or if it came out of nowhere. I went to the library to look up papers & stuff, and nothing on Nixon.

The next Monday he had his stroke, and within a week he was dead.

Wow. That's kind of like the dreams that Lincoln had, except they were about his death. I know that Mark Twain dreamed about his brother dying and it happened just as he had dreamed. This is what scares me because I don't want this dream to happen but it seems like one of "those" dreams.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but what's the point? Seems like a useless dream.

Just curious, but what was the dream about? You totally don't have to tell me, and I respect your decision not to. But I also wouldn't mind hearing it.

I don't dream the future but there have been times when I have just known stuff.
I get deja vu alot. And often can feel aware of hidden dangers.
I think some is just natural instinct (that we know little of) and the rest is Gods guiding.

I think Satan is always waiting to use unexplained phenomena to get people more interested in occult practices so it's always important to test where necissary and to give God glory for helping us.

I don't understand why people are being so negative and mean. God used dreams in the OT and NT to deliver messages, information, etc to his people. God doesn't change. He still does and can use that medium today.

You have a gift. Pray and ask the Lord why He gave you that gift and what He wants you to do with it. Are you called to be an intercessor to pray for/against what you dream? Etc.

And Samuel Clemens never professed to be saved, was even irreverent at times. Makes you realize there is more than one source for dreams...

Why does it really matter what the source is? The point is that it happens.

Matters a lot if the source is the flesh or, more seriously, the enemy. An awful lot.

What I mean is that they happen. Wether it comes from God or Satan they happen so the result is the same. My belief is that they come from God as only God exists outside time. I'm just not sure why they happen.

Satan has a lot of resources and can make educated guesses far better than any human alive. But, as you pointed out, he isn't God nor does he have God's ability to know the future.

I'm not sure if you knew Jeane Dixon, but she claimed to be able to foresee the future as a prophetess of God. By her own admission, she was only 85% accurate - 15% less accurate than God allowed His prophets. Therefore, one could know the source of her visions and dreams, while remarkable, was not God.

But why would you rather give satan more Glory than God by saying only satan an give dreams?

Satan is a counterfeit. God is the originator.

Gen 15:12 And it happened as the sun was setting, and a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And, behold, a horror of great darkness fell upon him!
Gen 15:13 And He said to Abram, You must surely know that your seed shall be a stranger in a land not theirs, and shall serve them. And they shall afflict them four hundred years.

Gen 20:6 And God said to him in a dream, Yes, I know that you did this in the sincerity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me. Therefore I did not allow you to touch her.

Gen 31:11 And the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, Jacob! And I said, Here I am.

Gen 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream and told it to his brothers. And they hated him still more.

Gen 37:6 And he said to them, I pray you, Hear this dream which I have dreamed.

Jer 23:28 The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream. And he who has My Word, let him speak My Word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? says Jehovah.

Act 2:17 "And it shall be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

62 Verses in the Bible about dreams. 200 if you include visions.

G-D does give dreams!

my sister had a "end-time" dream and GOT SAVED!

When she told someone the dream , they recommended a pysch hospital, she went for 3 days, came home asked me could she "borrow" my bible off a shelf, read it in record time. And has been a Believer in Christ ever since.

Before that she was a DEVOUT Atheist/antichrist.

G-D lets satan do with he does. Nothing gets past G-D. Every dream is from G-D.

I dont give satan credit he himself would not be without His Father The Lord.

Job 1:6 And a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them.

When I read about dreams in the Bible , it is usually a warning. I think that is the why.

Sure, of course it can just be the food you ate.

However, it can also be something God given.

I've wondered that too. Possible reasons could be that it helped build my faith in a transcendent God who knows the future. Maybe, just maybe, it is a spiritual gift that will come out more later. I haven't had another one though, so maybe not.

Pretty much it was like TV news coverage of Nixon's death, though I don't remember a cause being mentioned.

I never, ever said that. I resent the implication that because I challenge people to examine the source that I suggested that only the enemy can give dreams. It was asked why the SOURCE mattered, I answered why it matters.

However, I have heard several people tell their dreams, visions, and experiences as messages from God when they clearly contradict scripture. God does not, cannot, contradict Himself and His prophets aren't right some or even most of the time. When the speak for Him, they are 100% on - according to His standard.

Are you saying was saved by the Gospel in scripture or by a dream that prompted her to ask for the scriptures?

Jimbo,

I wasn't directing my post TO you, but as a general statement. I've seen several threads like this and I find it disappointing that MOST of the individuals who post would rather give satan the glory then God. It's like they are afraid to admit God can still do the miraculous.

However, you are right, Everything must match up with the principles of Scripture. Period. :)

If you are referring to me then you did not pay attention to what I said. I was saying that regardless of who they come form (I believe they come from God) they happen, so arguing about who they come from is pointless. I am not giving glory to Satan, I am just wondering why they happen, regardless of what the source is.
