Ignited-Faith -> Can you recommend any good Books on Tape? (5/27/2008 2:33:07 PM)

I found some great Books on Tape at a garage sale!
They are from the "Left Behind" series.
I am really enjoying them, and quite often
find myself on the edge of my seat!
You can listen anytime any where!
Does anyone know of any other good Books on Tape
that they would recommend?
Thank you!

My husband and I like to listen to audiobooks when we are traveling home to visit family. It's about an 8 hour trip, so it helps to have something to pass the time.
Here's a few suggestions:
Several of Frank Peretti's books are available on audiobook.
Also, we've listened to several Mary Higgins Clark and Dean Koontz books on road trips. Usually the thrillers/mysteries are best for holding your attention on long trips.

Alias007,
I do like Frank Peretti!
I will look for the others you mentioned too.
Thanks so much!!!

No problem!
If you are unfamiliar with Dean Koontz, I would suggest some of his more recent works (maybe try From the Corner of His Eye, One Door Away From Heaven, or Taken).

Try Patrick O'Brien's sea stories. You can probably find 'em at the local library. After one or two, you'll be addicted.

Try Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti (already mentioned), Bill Myers and Randy Alcorn.

I find that almost anything that I would enjoy reading, I can enjoy listening to. I've listened to everything from Ender's Game (sci fi), to The Poisonwood Bible, to Morgan's Run (historical fiction). Because the selection at my library is more limited, I've listened to things I wouldn't normally opt to read. I'm not sure how well non-fiction would work on tape, but most types of fiction seem to work well for me.

Im sure you might have thought of it but The Bible, one can never get too much although we may feel like it at times. But to hear it by wonderful narrators like MaX McLaine, My fav. is new testament by James Earl Jones(something familiar when he starts reading the book of Luke thats familiar[:)], and Ive seen at walmart one with hollywood big names reading as if its a play with Jim Caveezal (Jesus of course), Marisa Tomei, and many more

Thank you Stacy and Brother Todd,

Yes, I do have the New Testament Bible on tape,
I love it! I hope to find the Old Testament on tape!
Thanks again for your suggestions! I will keep this
in mind while I look. God bless you for your help
Everyone!
