cindybode -> RE: Who has a vaccuum that WORKS!?!?! (5/29/2008 3:55:10 PM)

When I had this issue many years ago, I went to a local vacuum repair guy and said, "OK, I have 5 kids and numerous fur bearing critters. I vacuum every day. If you were me, what would you buy?" He said either a Kirby or a Panasonic. I picked up a rebuilt Panasonic on ebay for less than $100. It finally died, after being used almost every day for about 8 years. I loved it. It picked up everything, including small children if you weren't careful. [;)] It rarely got plugged, but if it did, it came apart everywhere, so you didn't have to ream it out with a coat hanger. You could actually take the hose off both the back and underneath the machine. My dh, being the "gotta have it now" type, helpfully bought me one of those cyclone pet hair things. I think it's a Bissell. I hate it. It is constantly getting plugged up. I have to take the stupid machine apart at least 3 times during every vacuuming session. I am watching ebay for another Panasonic. [:)]
