I don't understand how this has turned into a "white vs black" church discussion.

I would think this would have been a "true Christain Chruch" vs a "false Chruch" thread.

I would have thought this would have been a "united thread" with God's people standing in complete agreement with one another
.

Well look who brought up color first in that debate of white vs. black Churches.

Am I in agreement with you. YES! Trinity is preaching a false gospel, no doubt about it.

Like I said mixing truth with anger with some other mess.

It ain't Jesus.

But I think they are an extension of the cult of Moslems, the Nation of Islam.

But I also don't think BO has that anger. He does not have the baggage of being from slaves in this country. He to my knowledge has never felt racism.

My point is this , it is hard to tell people don't do such and such when for years people have watched others do exactly what they are saying don't do now.

Here's another excerpt from a story on pulpit electioneeing.

"On October 30, 1992, four days before the presidential election, the Church at Pierce Creek (Pierce Creek), which is based in Binghamton, New York, decided to run full-page advertisements in USA Today and the Washington Times warning Christians not to vote for then-Governor Clinton. The advertisements warned that Clinton's positions concerning "abortion, homosexuality, and the distribution of condoms to teenagers in schools violated Biblical precepts." The "reasonable belief" that the IRS had for pursuing a full-scale investigation against Pierce Creek were the words listed at the bottom of each advertisement: "This advertisement was co-sponsored by the Church at Pierce Creek . . . and by churches and concerned Christians nationwide."

The History of Church Electioneering

AND

Mixing God and politics

"Sep 4, 2002 | On Sept. 11 last year, Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., introduced a bill that would allow churches, temples, mosques and other houses of worship to channel donations directly to political campaigns, and to use church resources to help elect or defeat specific candidates without losing their tax-exempt status."

Not just liberals and demokrats (sic) hmmm!

I believe racism raised it's ugly head in the actual sermon itself where someone "judged" someone elses motives based on their skin color. A sin from the pulpit that was greeted by cheers.

This is not a debate about white vs black church or brown vs yellow churches, democrate vs republican. There is only "one Church" and it has nothing to do with politcal party association or skin color.

Believe it or not the real "issue" is much more important than skin color or american political party. Sometimes Satan knows how to hit our "hot buttons" inorder for us to get off track and focus on the minor stuff (sking color, politcal philosophy, etc) so that we can ignore the "real issue" at hand.

We are stupid if we as the Chruch allow those "minor" issue to cause disunity in our fellowship.

What is the problem with the Fathers "sermon"

What is the problem with what James Cones said?

They desire to cause "division" in the Chruch.

1 Corinthians 12:12-26

12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.

. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

I think "how" is very obvious.

BLT teaches millions of people that whites are devils. Cones says,
Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy.

I believe we need to ask ourselves "why" are they doing this and by whose power are they doing this and "am I falling into Satan's trap"?

the how is color.

Why because some people are angry and need Jesus to heal them.

Heal the divisions.

Alot of people on both sides have fallen into this trap of Satan/racism.

I think we agree Pw31

It is an FALSE Gospel.

Well then I stand united on this-It is not right. Nor the true Gospel.

Your theology CANNOT be based on James Cones book. Who IMHO is a real wacko.

If you were given a chance to speak to TUCC, what would you say?

Finally got a chance to listen to the sermon. What's wrong with that guy? First I thought he couldn't breathe and was going to pass out...then he spiraled into language and words that are so anti-Christian I'm frankly shocked that he's standing in a pulpit or working with any church anywhere.

I thought it was interesting in Obama's speech about resinging the Church that he said he would not join a Church for "Political Expedeincy", but he evidently does not mind throwing his Church of over 20 uears under the bus for "Political Expedency".

It is just as incorrect to say that as it is to say that ALL African American churches are like Trinity.

No one is making that kind of blanket statement. There is a large AA church here in Raleigh that has taken postive statements against the gay agenda, the marketing of Christman, and has taken a strong pro-life position.

What's wrong with this sermon? The fact that he spoke about white entitlement? The fact that he said he saw this in Hillary?

Its flat out wrong just to accuse someone of racism without much evidence. I agree that Hillary Clinton has a sense of entitlement but I think she would be vicious to whomever was her opponent, regardless of the color of their skin.

Not everyone who opposes an African American is a racist. Even if they do so in a morally questionable way.

I don't think I would speak at all other than to tell people to get out of that "church?".

Because these people have a perverted view of God, scripture, Jesus, slavation, sin, man and so on I think it would take years of work to help correct their false theology. (much like Mormon's who have differant understanding for our Christian terms) Also I don't think those people go to Chruch inorder to find or worship God. I think they go inorder to worship self. It's hard to witness to someone who does not "want" or have the "desire" to know God's truth.

So you would'nt speak to them at all. OK.. You've already made up in your mind that they are not worth your time. You think you know why they are there. 8000 people, just brush them off like that. OK.

It is hard to witness to people that do not want to know G-D's truth.

I'm saddened by your response.

why are you saddened by her response tracydolls?
She's telling the truth.
All that would happen would be an argument that no one wins, especially if that congregation is so entrenched in their viewpoint and think it's right.
Do you think they would be receptive in hearing a true Christian say that the congregation is NOT acting Christ-like?
That they are wrong?
That they have been condoning a hatred that Jesus would not tolerate?
That they need to change their ways?

What do you think would be the response from all 8,000 people toward a person standing before them saying this?

I wouldn't want to be standing there, that's for sure, you never know what the reaction of 8,000 angry people would be.

I would say the same thing I would say anywhere else. I would preach on the Love of God, repentance from dead works (sin), and that when one is saved and a Child of God; then they have all they need and shold be content with that.

(Heb 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Then I would probably be tarred, featherd and tossed out the back door, because TUCC seems to be all about being convetousness and being a mal-content.

He was dismissed from his Church, effective immediately.

Well at least the Diocese of Chicago is showing a little common sense in all this.

Thanks

I know..... just imagine:

They might get angry and become a mob that will rush the podium and
beat.
you.
down.

They might riot all over the sanctuary...rush outside and torch your car! 8,000 Black people! Who knows what a mob like that could do!

I can hear them now ranting against the system. Goodness knows that there isn't one OUNCE of truth in the pain they've imagined.

Why are you bringing skin color into this?
Because the congregation is majority black doesn't mean anything.
I didn't bring race into it, you did so I am angry that you are implying I have some stereotype that all black people would react in anger and violence.

Why is it, that someone has to bring race into the picture I can't imagine either.
