that's something i've always wondered.... Interesting that you mentioned this. I just filled out the forms for my dd to go to VBS at a friend's church. It actually asks on the form what your home church is - I thought this a kind of odd question, but now that I think about it. I bet they are trying to find out how many go to church elsewhere or are unchurched.

We will do that for the 2nd time this year and it works great. People would come to the park to play and see us and sign their kids up. Also, people who wouldn't go to a church found this less intimidating. Our main emphasis was showing the kids that we cared about them and planting seeds.

The park is a great place to do VBS. We've done a wet 'n wild type VBS there where the kids got wet and dirty in the process. They loved it and didn't want it to end.

Erin, we have done the "Super Saturdays". They were very successful. We did different outside activities to fit the season on the Friday night for families before as a kick off and then had the all day sessions the next day. I do not remember what we called the services, but they were lots of fun and really more economical I believe.
