This is what I just posted in prayer and praise: quote:
just an update. While there are praises there are still more requests for prayer. At about 9:30 tonight hubby and I chatted and he was still not feeling the best. He was still very lightheaded and just felt weak, lethargic and really tired - even after several hours of sleep. So we made the decision to go in to the ER. By 10:30 we were checked in at that time his blood pressure was something like 76 over 48. WAY lower then even mine has ever been and I have notoriously low blood pressure! They weren't even concerned about his blood sugar at this point and were mainly concerned with getting his blood pressure UP to normal levels. We think Brian may have OVER compensated a bit by taking ALL his medication including a blood pressure med, today after not taking it for so long! So now it is 2 AM the morning of my 39th birthday, and my hubby is in the hospital. He sent me home to be here when the kids wake up and to see if I could get at least a few hours of sleep. I'm exhausted. I'm worried. Thankfully my parents will be back in town tomorrow to drop of our eldest dd (they've had her for a week at niagara falls) and they will likely stay a few days now just to help me out as they don't need to be back to Minnesota til next Wednesday. Thanks everyone! What I didn't post there is that I stopped on my way home and bought myself a birthday cake. It's a specialty cake one of the bakeries here does with each quarter of the cake a different sinfully delicious flavor! Carrot cake, German Chocolate, luscious white, and chocolate sensation! I'm going to enjoy the carrot cake portion because this bakery makes the the best carrot cake I've ever tasted! It's even better then my grandmothers and I don't say that about much! I figured it's my birthday and no one else is going to buy me a cake so I'll do it myself! Blessings, Garsy

Garsy, hope things are looking better this morning and that Brian is doing better. Happy Birthday. Praying. quote:
OK - what is the big idea keeping helpful secrets? You are supposed to share information. Mbee, I PM'd Garsy because I mentioned the product by name and wasn't sure whether that would be a TOS violation or not. I'll PM that info to you, and if anyone else wants to know, I'll be glad to PM them as well. quote:
Now I just wish I could be a fly on the wall when she discovers it... Oh, my! That would be interesting, Donna. Y'all have a good/better day today!

Yikes...ICU! He must have been really unstable. I'm glad he's doing a bit better now, and that the kids can see him. AND that he may have insurance options...that's always a huge stress when you're sick and don't have it. I am SO thankful for NY's Family Health Plus and Child Health Plus programs...without them, we would not have insurance either.

Ha - she said Brian was unstable... The endocrinologist came to talk to my Dad. She left such an impression, he is cancelling his appt to go back. And, I'm with him 100%. The only reason I didn't tell her off was because I was afraid they'd kick me out of the hospital. But, that was just her. Dad is good. He found out less that 3 weeks before his surgury he is diabetic. He was testing every day and had altered his diet. However, the A1C test was still very high and she was insisting he wasn't following the diet. She said that he if promised to start a diet, she'd consider not giving him a 'script. He repeated he was on one and she said that it wasn't showing up on the test, so he must not be doing it right. Now, I don't know who was medially correct, but she was condesending as all get out. But back to you. Take in his homework so he can write the paper... :D

I hope he can find someone else. How is he doing other wise, like recovery from his surgery? quote:
It's been an exhausting couple of days! Garsy, I can imagine! We lost our power for 8 hours. I was reading by flashlight and listened to the news on the radio that picks up tv signals. We didn't get hit by this fast of wind speeds but my neighbors were in the path and they clocked the wind in Omaha at 90mph!

They put MY Brian on Chantax to help him with his quest to quit smoking. We'll see how that goes! Let me know how that works for him. My Brian has been hesitant to try it because nothing else has worked for him. I so wish he could quit smoking...especially since the lovely state of NY just added a $1.25 tax per pack. You know who that hits the hardest...the poor, who are already stressed over finances with gas and food prices. Yeah, I'm sure more stress will be great incentive to quit. Ha. Sorry...touchy subject right now...

My brother just found out a few months ago he is in the beginning stages of emphysema. Both he and his wife quit smoking and they discovered they are saving 80 bucks a week! She said if she ever felt like taking it up again she just remembers the money.

Wow...I think Brian spends about $30/week...but $30 is $30...we could have a nice dinner out once a week with that! (Not that that's what we would do...just saying...) Nick's mother didn't send enough Ritalin for the 9 days he's here. Brian's going to call her and tell her we need more. We're not going to drive 30 minutes to go pick more up though, just because she can't count. She'll have to drop them off when SHE's in the area, since where she lives is out of our way for everything. She'll go right past here on the 4th at least to go to the parade, if not before then. Think we should call DSS and let them know she didn't give us enough of his medicine, since WE'RE the ones being investigated for not giving it to him? Yeah...I'm a little bitter at the moment. They still have not closed the case and it has now been 2.5 months. I didn't think they could keep a case open this long without having papers filed against us in family court. I *want* to call Monday and find out what the hold up is, but at the same time, don't want to draw attention to us, KWIM? Grrr...

I'd also send her an email with the request so you have proof you asked for it, otherwise she could lie and say you never asked. I don't trust people. quote:

We can't email her. She didn't pay her internet bill. To add insult to injury...I just put the little kids to bed and sent Nick to his room for quiet time and he was going to look at books. He came out BAWLING and saying, "I don't want to go to second grade. I want to stay in first grade!" Now, we have not said one single word about how we felt about it, not around him, not to him. I asked him why and he said first grade was still too hard and he couldn't do second grade. Great. Just great. As has been shown, we really have no say in the decision unless we take her (and the school?) to court, and here this kid is defeated before he even starts. I did talk with him a little bit more and made sure he understood even if he got to stay in first grade, he wouldn't be with the same teacher (thank you, God!) or most of the same kids. He said he doesn't care. I told him it's kind of out of our hands, but that Daddy will help him talk to Mommy about it when he goes back. I just want to know what the heck is wrong with these people, that they can't see what is best for him and they (both J AND the school!) spend way more time with him than we do. And did no one ever ask Nick how HE felt about moving on to second grade before they decided it would be "emotionally detrimental" to hold him back? We didn't because we knew it wouldn't end up being our decision and didn't want him to think we had any control over it when we don't. I am so frustrated I can't take a nap now.
