Do you have any certain scripture or passage that you directly apply to your life? What is the scripture and the application behind it?

Psalm 3 is a Psalm that I have been praying much recently. The application is self-explanatory from the Psalm. As with David, we have an 'Absalom' who is trying to overthrow us and bring us to ruin. From a human point of view our situation seems near impossible. I'm sure many are saying that God cannot/will not deliver us from it but the Lord drew my attention to this Psalm which gave me much comfort and strength last week (one of the hardest weeks of our lives) - particularly verses 2 and 3. As far as I'm concerned, although we have a situation where many are watching and no doubt thinking things look impossible - I believe in my heart that the Lord is in control and is going to deliver us and He will be glorified. Hallelujah.

1 O LORD, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
"God will not deliver him."
Selah

3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

4 To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
Selah

5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

6 I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.

7 Arise, O LORD!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.

8 From the LORD comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
Selah

I take it you are feeling very alone in the midst of enemies.[&o] Take comfort in just how much you are loved[:)] Thank you for sharing.

We may have many strong foes at present but the Lord has given us the support of many good friends. Our best Friend is become Jesus however. It is a lonely time but only in the sense that we know of noone who has experienced anything like as similar! Psalm 139 is also a great comfort because we know that God knows the beginning from the end and that He knows our future and therefore He is the best Person to consult regarding our future. The Lord has shown us many wonderful truths in a short time already (whilst in the middle of a very difficult situation) and I have no doubt that He has many more wonderful things to teach us ahead if we remain focussed on Him. I am almost 'excited' by what God has in store. This may seem strange (seeing as we are in the middle of a very difficult time) but it is the truth based on how God has strengthened us so far and what He has taught us i.e. He has taught us spiritual lessons in our situation which we would never have perhaps have learnt otherwise and although I cannot go into the actual situation at present in any detail...... perhaps one day...... "to God be the glory".

My Boast

"Because of the surpassing greatness of [His] revelation, there was given me a limitation to keep me from exalting myself! For He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you for My power is refined in weakness." Most gladly then, I will glory in my weakness so that the power of Christ may contrast in me. Therefore, I can be content with my lack, my insult, distresses and difficulties for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."-2Corithians 12:7,9,10

Can I have two?

1 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind ... ... Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Matthew 22:37 onwards.

I try my best with the first part; but right now I'm finding it difficult to love my neighbor because he insists on parking his car opposite my drive-way and blocks me in.

2 "I will be with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20.

I find this thought comforting - especially in times of troubles in my life.

Isa:40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I've applied this to my life after doing things without the Lord's help and I don't want to ever try that again.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
6:26
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
6:27
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
6:28
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
6:29
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
6:30
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
6:31
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
6:32
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:25-33

Kinda says it all.
