This is specifically for the singles as well. How did you find forums here? I found it when back in 1998 or so, Crosswalk had a media blitz and I always remembered the name of the site.

In 1999 I signed up for Crosswalkmail, which they had at the time. I discovered forums about a year later then lurked for a while. My first post was in Tech Issues (now Computers and Technology) and then General Topics (which is now the Community folder as well.)

And how does this relate to Singles? As is, it belongs in the Community Lounge.

I was looking for singles responses specifically, however if it is in the wrong folder, then I apologize.

When I got my first computer in 2003, I surfed to Purposeful Singleness, which I had heard about somewhere (I think its URL is singleness.org). There I saw an ad/link for Crosswalk, surfed to it, and here I am. Even since then, the forums have had many lives. I actually hardly go to Crosswalk anymore, since I use the FCN portal.

Then identify that in your OP. Otherwise, it's getting moved.

Love it, Edwin! I get the reference - John Lennon, when the Beatles were asked by an interviewer "How did you find America?". Don't remember when, though.

I was tricked into it when I was viewing the CW homepage.

I clicked on one of the teasers under the community section and here I was!

Aha! So you've been kidnapped and you can't find anybody to pay the ransom, huh?

I discovered it more than a year ago purely by accident. I was looking for the website for a church called "Crossroads" and had their name wrong.

I was specifically looking for a Christian forum where I could converse on-line with other Christians. This one was one of them that came up on my search.

I first came here 10 years ago actually. I think I did a search for Christian answers or something like that and it came up with CW. I was really looking to learn more about Christianity. I didn't grow up in the church and so I was really trying to get some questions answered about who Jesus is. I am so thankful for the helpful people at CW to help me understand what Christ did for me. And now 10 years later, I'm still on these forums!

I was lured in by one of those bait topics. The kind where someone pours their heart out to get others to do the same just to mess with folks. I'm wiser now, and better able to recognize trolls.

When I finally got onto the internet in 2000, I visited a couple of Christian sites. One of them linked to an audio Bible (to which I listened while working on the church bulletin) and the audio Bible site had a link to crosswalk.com. When I clicked that, I saw an area for singles and that had a link to the singles forum. I lurked for a while (hope that wasn't too creepy) and finally announced myself. Shortly after that I discovered that singles wasn't the only forum at Crosswalk.

Pammy, I think it was 1963, not long before I was born.

Well I got into the concept of forums through my sister. She gave me a link in an e-mail. . . . . . . . I think she was in the current events folder at the time. . . . . . . I joined up and started hanging out in the movies & books threads. . . . . . . . I left for a while and then . . . . . . . . . . . . . when I went through my divorce I was looking for a Christian site to help me through some of the issues I faced and then . . . . . . I found singles.

It's taken me a while to feel comfortable here but I think I've found my niche.

I have always visited crosswalk for devotionals, I had no idea they had a community. I stumbled upon the forums and here I am :)

Actually, I discovered the forums for reasons related to singles. About four years ago the Family Life radio program broadcast portions of a talk given by Dr. Albert Mohler at the 2004 New Attitude conference. In his remarks, Dr. Mohler equated adulthood with marriage and implied that singleness is a sin. A few weeks later, Christianity Today's singles page published a response by Camerin Courtney taking issue with Dr. Mohler's remarks.

As you can probably guess, this created a heated discussion here at the Singles forum and I became a regular lurker. After lurking for about a year I finally broke down and joined the forums.

I found the forum a long time ago, but never wandered in. I stayed mostly in the devotional area of Crosswalk. Then, I don't know. I think I got interested in the the "theology" section first. Would you believe one of my very first few post was titled "sex question". That was interesting. I think it's only when that thread died down, that i wandered into the singles area.

I signed up originally to help a friend out by posting in the SG folder about his group. Then I started posting more. One day I got bored and stumbled in here. Now you can't get rid of me.
