I was on the Singing News website and clicked on the 'forums' link out of curiousity, I guess, and here I am!!

My Sunday School leader was continually printing out articles from Crosswalk for discussion in class. Eventually I went to the site and started reading articles myself online. One day I clicked on the Forums and jumped around to different ones, always just lurking. Ultimately found the Singles Forum and after lurking for a couple months finally joined up.

I don't remember how I found these forums.

But I'm glad I did this is just a great place for fellowship, and making friends.

I found them a little dry at first. But with a proper marinade and some good spices they became quite tender and tasty.

I've told the story before, but it's linked with what's going on in my life right now. I have been single for 9 years. It's hard enough when you just have to walk through it, but when my daughter started a relationship, it was really, really hard for me to watch. I had been on a few forums before where I had positive experiences, and I was grieving and also jealous, therefore desperate for help. I started searching the 'net for help...and I found CW.

There are several things/people God has put in my life without which during the last several months I would not have survived. CW Singles forum is one of them.

I actually found out about Crosswalk in Christian magazine advertisement when I was in high school, but I didn't have the Internet then. I started visiting the forums and chat rooms when I was in college, but I wasn't on all that much. So I've been on/off here for about 9 years now.

I was part of the Christianity.com site back in 2003-4 while in NYC. Once everything merged, I stayed away for a bit, but then needed a break from the other place where I was a mod - and came here and never left!

I was turned onto Crosswalk many years ago - through Steve Green's SIL.

[raspy voice] back in the day when I was working as a dispatcher...cough cough[/raspy voice] can't do that...hurts my voice. [:D]

Anywho, back in 2003 I was working as a dispatcher where many hours were spent babysitting a phone, and plenty of internet time once the paperwork was done for the night (we had to leave at a specific time). I was cruising around crosswalk.com and somehow found the forums. I posted here and there...didn't start joining in on the singles threads until later on.

The rest, my friends, is history!

Universal Studios florida....I dispatched for technical services so anything that broke (a/c, plumbing, rides, etc) got called in to me. But sometimes I'd have to stay until 3:30am even if the park was only open until 9pm (we had techs that worked around the clock).

lol...actually, I worked both places at the same time- Universal 4 days a week (full time) and disney 2 days a week.... When I went back to Disney and got rehired, I had to list Universal as a potential "conflict of interest". They would have only cared if I had an important position w/ top secret info, I'm sure!
