I love to scrapbook though I don't do it as often as I like. I am way behind on several albums, but I am hoping to catch up this summer. One thing I have tried to start doing with my son's ablum is add in scripture verses were they fit best. For his ultrasound I did the verse "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."I also did for his title page Jeremiah 29:11.

I love scrapbooking and cardmaking! I do mostly scrapbooking though. Summer is my time. I have little time during the school year, so I scrap like a maniac in the summer months. Last summer, I finally set up a real scrapbooking center in my computer room. I invested in tables, storage units, embellishment containers, and shelving. Now, if I don't have time to finish a layout, I can walk off and leave it all there and come back to it later. Plus, I love having it all organized and knowing where everything is.

I've fallen behind. I need to find some friends and plan a couple girl-nights this summer to get caught up.

I enjoy scrapbooking, but I definitely don't get enough time for it! I'm currently working on my daughter's baby album and an album of the trip my husband and I took to Cuba. I also managed to get ALL of my photos organized so I've got tons of stuff ready to go, just need the time. I'm also about to start cardmaking. I went with my mother yesterday to buy her the stuff she needs to get started scrapbooking, and I picked up a few things to get me started on cardmaking. I also like doing tags....I've incorporated them into my daughter's album, any place that I journaled, I did it on a tag. I can't wait to get my own space set up like Karlie's. We're in an apartment right now so there isn't any space to just leave my stuff (or keep it away from a 1.5 year old.)

I scrapbook, too... Have started 3 albums: Ministry Family My grandaughter love doing it - very therapeutic, but I do need somehwere that I can leave it out organized and all, so I don't have to "set up" every time cause that's the part that takes so much time for me.

I scrapbook, too. I have the closet in our guest bedroom set up with a table and organizational tools to house all my stuff. It's so nice being able to leave a layout in the middle of working on it and still have the house look clean. I prefer scrapping alone. I love not having to drag my stuff out to scrap with friends. Also, inspiration doesn't always hit at crops and some of my worst pages were done at crops because I was too tired to do a page justice, or come up with a creative idea that worked. Occasionally, I will attend a crop. When I do, I work very hard preparing and designing layouts so I can take my album, paper and embellishments (already decided on and prepared,) selected pens, a pencil, a stencil with lines for journaling, adhesive, the pictures I will use, and a very quick rough sketch of the design of each page, and my straight-line trimmer. Crops are so much more fun and productive this way. I'm working on a book from when dh took a mission trip to Austrilia 3 years ago. It's been very hard for me to do because I didn't go and don't always know the best way to organize the photos or what sort of title to give the pages. Dh has had to work with me some and give approval of designs before I'm comfy. I also have a chronological album going that is a bit over 1 year behind. I'm working through our week long vacation from March 2007 right now. I've become addicted to paper in the past couple of years. I've outgrown my organization of it and have to really discipline myself to not buy more. How much room can another sheet of cardstock take up? A lot, if you stack them all together!! Currently, I'm disciplining myself to only buy adhesive so I can use my stash down.

That's when I feel creative. Plus, I don't always know when I get started what items I will end up wanting. I like having every tool and supply I have right there for when inspiration strikes.

I'm a scrappy snob, though. I ONLY, only use Creative Memories products. That's funny, because they probably have my least favorite scrapping products!

I went to a Creative Memories party once, I wasn't really that into it though. I was just starting out, so I brought some pictures but didn't have any other materials. The girl who did the party was nice but didn't have much stuff to try out or many ideas. The girl who hosted it ended up letting me try out all of her stuff. I bought a couple of items that I needed, but mostly I get my stuff from Michael's. I'm a scrapbooking newbie!

I love scrapbooking and have done one album,am halfway through another, and have done a mini album. For Christmas I got a Spongebob scrapbooking kit,Tinkerbell, and another one with different sayings on it. I also have lots of stickers, and made a photo cube also. Scrapbooking is so easy I taught myself how to.

Does anyone have a ScrapJazz account? I'm a member, but don't participate in the forums or have any layouts scanned. I mostly use them for inspiration. I love that they keep up with supplies used. I like to see how others are using the supplies that I love. Anyhow, if anyone else is a member, I'd like to add you as a friend even though I'm not a frequent user over there.

I love ScrapJazz too. I get lots of great ideas there. I also get a magazine called Memory Makers every month. That's great for reviewing new products and things just coming out. Their layouts are really cool too. quote:
just about the only CM stuff that I can't live without is my circle and shape cutters..and my straight edge cutter. I agree with that! I do like CM tools and have the shape cutters, trimmers, corner rounders and things like that. I'm just not crazy about their selection or papers or embellishments at all. My newest toy is the Crop-A-Dile. I love that thing. Soooo much easier than the eyelet setting tool I used to have. I love how easy it is and the fun things I can do with the eyelets. I did a baby page and wove sheer pink ribbon in and out all along the border and it looks so pretty.

Are you having any problems learning, Lexie? (That sounds like I think you have an issue with education ... I mean more Are you overwhelmed? or Do you need any help from us?) Where are you learning? LOL...sometimes I think I do have an issue with education! Right now my biggest problem is the time. I have to do it when Akeelah is sleeping pretty much, otherwise she wants to get into everything. I'm learning pretty much on my own and from magazines and books I pick up. My first one wasn't very "traditional." It was our wedding album. We bought a small hand crafted notebook in the market in Cuba where we were married, and I used that. It fits one photo per page, and I incorporated quotes, scripture and stickers. I tried to mix elegance with beach (!) and I think it worked out pretty well. A lot of people have commented on it because of how it suits the type of wedding we had. I enjoyed using the CM cropping system. The one I have right now is from Fiskars but I don't like it that much. It was a gift, so I didn't have a choice, but I liked the CM one better. From CM I just bought the adhesive roller and something for the photo edges (watch me with the lingo!).

Karlie- that tool looks so nice! Is it easy to change the eyelet size? I'll bet it's quieter than my hammer and mat. It's very easy to change the eyelet size. It takes a little practice, but it's fun, And it's not noisy at all. I like it because it does both punching the hole and setting the eyelet. It even has depth guides for the hole punch part so you can get multiple eyelets even. Here is a youtube demo that really helped me get used to it. Lexie, your wedding album does sound nice.

When I scrap, I go to a crop hosted by a CM gal. She's great though. She doesn't have any problem with contraband . And even uses a little herself but don't tell anyone. I stick with CM for the actual albums and pages, but will use other brands for anything else as long as it's what I want. I do have all the circle and oval pattern cutters, the straight edge cutter and the mat. Also the personal trimmer and 2 sets of colored pens that are CM. A few other assorted tools that I "won" at all day crops. I'm not gung-ho CM, but I do like a lot of what they have, especially their idea books.
