I watched the sun set and moon begin to glow. I talked to God. I explained about this thread, even though he already knew about it, and how I believe I was hearing his voice but it would be nice if he would confirm it in a way which did not require me hearing his voice in my head..........I asked him if he could make it very clear that I do hear him clearly and know when he is speaking to me.

I may not be interpreting this right....so, forgive me and correct me if i'm wrong:

I am a little concerned. Although from this encounter you learned that this man was not an example of God speaking, I hope that you are not seeing this as a way that God showed you the difference between his voice and the enemies. I don't believe that our loving God would put you in danger to make this point. Nevertheless, God kept you and protected you.

I often remember the scripture that says the enemy is like a thief in the night. And, for those of us who are really seeking God...we are the targets the enemy tries to get. The more powerful our lives become in God, the more distractions and weapons the enemy throws at us to tear us down. But no weapon formed against us will prosper.

Did you pray out loud? When we pray out loud, God hears us but I also think so does the enemy (knowing that only God knows the words in our hearts). This is why when we pray, we have the authority to speak out against sickness, danger, evil. The enemy has to flee when we speak in the authority of Christ. Thus, the enemy hears...

Our praise and worship confuses the enemy, but we also have to use wisdom. I feel that the enemy was trying to be opportunistic and set you up in this deception.

Walking from the parking lot to the beach I passed a trail head. A man was exiting the trail. Something about him, I don't know what, made me very uncomfortable. He said hi, I responded but was unnerved

I really feel that the first uneasiness you had when you arrived at the beach was the first sign of Wisdom. You may have not heard the voice from God at that time, but what you saw brought the discomfort. Can I ask, aside from the voice we hear...can God speak to us through what he allows us to see?

I myself am very visual, and God shows me things and patterns through what I physically see. God is right here with us and all around us. He speaks to us, and he also shows us things. I pray that you are also listening with your eyes.

Because even though I felt he was dangerous I felt safe and for reason I didn't think running was the answer. Plus there was something about him which draw me in...made me want to stay.........almost intoxicating.

A word of caution here. Remembe the story of Tamar (2 Samuel 13). She thought she would feel safe around her own brother, but trouble abrupted. I hope you are not put this kind of situation again....honestly, I would of gave him the phone number to a church. Be careful and I hope you don't call him. Take Care.

LOL I don't think God put me in danger to make this point either.........I put myself there by going to the park at night........but God did protect me. He is he one who told me to pray as the man approached me.

I also want to make it clear that I do not know if this man was dangerous or not. I just shared what I felt around him. I do believe that God answered my prayer and showed me in a very visual, audible way what a counterfeit voice sounds like....

I also want to make it clear I am not saying this man was satan.......but just as God speaks through people and we do not think they are God.........satan can speak through people even though they are not satan.

I prayed silently when he was approaching........out loud when I asked him if we could pray together.

One of the things which amaze me is how calm Gilbert got after the prayer. It is like he could see the protecting angels and hedge around me and knew we were safe. I also thought it was interesting how the man circled me...almost as though he was outside of a fence or shield........

Most definitely. As you become more familiar with my post, or if you were to go back and read through some old post you will see that more often then verbally God speaks to me through what I see in nature.

I am very visual physically because it is not normal for me to see things in my mind. For most people if you say the grand canyon their mind will see a picture of the grand canyon........mine does not... I hear words describing the grand canyon.

What I find so cool about the way God designed me is since I don't see pictures in my mind I tend to see God through my physical sight........through things I am seeing with my physical eyes........and as I begin to seek to hear from him more and more I am beginning to "see" picture from Him in my mind.

It is so cool when a picture, clear as a bell, comes into your mind, which has nothing to do with anything you are thinking about ,and you know it is God showing you something........[:D][:D][:D]

Thank you so much for your concern.........I am not going to call him.......at the advice of a friend I deleted his voice message..........

Once God revealed to me the contrast between what this man was saying and God's voice the pull he had was severed.....[:D][:D][:D]

Are you listening to the Lord? When it comes to marriage, relationships, dealing with single living are you listening to the Lord?

I listen to God or at least I would if he would talk about relationships with me. I talk to him, I wait, I listen, I wait some more, I talk, I wait etc. He says nothing.

God talks to me about lots of other things, its very clear and precise but when it comes to the topic of marriage he seems to be mums the word. I have no idea why? But hey nothing I can do about it except. Talk, wait, listen and hope for a reply.

Katie-Scarlet

I can relate. There are times in my life when God seems to be silent. I know how hard it is........especially when you really want to hear from him.

I can remember one time this happened clearly.

Please know that I am not saying or implying this is why God is not speaking to you.......I am just sharing why he was silent with me.

I had decided I wanted to move to another state, start a new life and leave the past behind. There was a gentleman friend of mine who offered to rent me a place to stay and get me a job. I thought it seemed the perfect solution.

I talk to God about it. He was silent. I talked to him again explaining why this was a good idea. He was silent.

I finally told Him well God if you are not going to say anything then I will take you not speaking as an ok for me to go.

He finally spoke.

You already went a long time ago in your heart.

I went.

Later when things did not turn out the way I expected I asked God why didn't you tell me not to go.

His answer was very clear.

You were not asking seeking my guidance. You had already decided in your heart and mind you were going. You were only asking me as a way of begging for me to give you the ok to go....when you already knew my answer.

One thing I know about God as far as our relationship..........his silence can be him speaking as well. I just don't always chose to listen to it.

Interesting. This is worth pondering upon.
