clout -> What TV Network(s), Station(s) are doing SGM Justice (6/12/2008 7:22:34 PM)

When you search for good Southern Gospel Music on television, where do you search? When you do locate a source, do you share it? Do you think fans should get involved in pressuring local stations and networks to schedule more SGM? Are the ones you watch, in your mind, professionally produced? When you do find a local professionally produced program, would you encourage the producer to syndicate?

In the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, we currently have zero local TV stations that show Southern Gospel. Our local PBS station used to have Classic Gospel with Bill Gaither every Sunday afternoon but they stopped showing that a few months back.

Fortunately, we have Satellite TV. The bad news is, only Daystar and RFD TV show SG on a regular basis and that is the Gaither Gospel Hour on Saturday night. Daystar does have a show on Thursday evening but it is always the same show that they had on the previous Saturday.

Daystar also has a show at 6:30 Central time, I believe, on Saturday evenings called Gospel Music Showcase. Tammy Underwood of the Perry Sisters is the host of it, and it has had SG everytime I have seen it.
Channel 378 on Directv has a show called Southern Gospel Country every other Friday evening at 8:30. Most of the concert footage on it comes from the World Premiere at Pigeon Forge. Channel 338 on Directv has some SG, along with Country Gospel, on Monday evenings.

Yeah, that is the one I have mentioned to you before on the Geezer thread. We see you both every time we watch it. The footage they used when we have seen it is from the 2006 W.P.
