Oh Little_1 What a difficult question.

If we're to treat our bodies according to Scripture requirements then we should not smoke, drink, take drugs, over-eat, under-eat, take part in dangerous sports, have tattoos, pins and rings sticking out of our bodies ... etc ... etc ... Need I go on?

I have heard the thing about tattoos and piercings but is that defiling the temple? If the tattoos or piercing themselves are not offensive what is wrong with them? This is being asked by a believer with pierced ears and a tattoo. I did consider others views before getting the tat but after prayer really found nothing wrong with it.

I was just about to make the VERY SAME comment.....since almost ALL of the women at church have pierced ears...never realized that it could be "against scripture"....

I don't treat my body as well as I should, but I'm working on it.

with regards to my body, and how I treat it, I think i do "ok"....

thing is, back when i was 18, I essentially became "battery operated".....just like the Energizer Bunny!!!!!

(some heart issues led to the necessity of having a pacemaker...now, at 40, I have had a pacemaker for more of my life than without)....

I have seen some really hard nosed Harley riders with tats and piercings that will sit and shout about the Lord all day long if you ask them. Or don't ask them, they can just tell!
I have seen other people that don't ride but have the same things on their bodies and they are so firm about our Lord it's wonderful!!
My uncle is one of them. He's so on fire for the Lord.I can only hope to be as on fire as he is one day.
The Lord uses us in mysterious ways no matter what our bodies look like.
I have no tats or piercings and don't mind what others do to their bodies.

May blessings be upon all of us daily no matter what the situation of our temples.

Looking at health issues, I have not been kind to my body, but now, I must be, if I wish to live a while longer. While I can't help it that I have an inherited disease, I did not know that it, with years of Pepsi and Sobe, would bring me into diabetes. So now, I seriously thank God for agave, my sweetener, because I can have some sweets after all, without purposely damaging my body further.

Regarding the other stuff, I'm very careful, but I had to answer
quote:

I know I should but I don't; however I want to submit
because most of my life, I abused my body with sugar.
