Solus -> What is Sabellianism? (6/13/2008 5:33:35 PM)

I recently read about Sabellianism. Does anyone know anything about it?

"In Christianity, Sabellianism (also known as modalism, modalistic monarchianism, or modal monarchism) is the nontrinitarian belief that the Heavenly Father, Resurrected Son and Holy Spirit are different modes or aspects of one God, as perceived by the believer, rather than three distinct persons in God Himself."

A good example would be certain churches of the Pentecostal Apostolic kind. The so-called Jesus only churches. They would advocate that baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and HS is unbiblical.

Great answer, Larry.

Solus - did you have any further questions regarding this heretical set of beliefs?
