Daystar, I've come across MANY similar stories in my years in real estate. When ever someone calls me planning to buy a house, I tell them to pull their own credit report on AnnualCreditReport.com. The reporting agencies are notorious for false, misleading, and misinformation... yet for THEM, there is no law against it! Now you let you or I try, and we'll have fair housing, OCC, FTC, and many other gobment acronyms after us. What she needs to do, and this will take time, is pull her reports and object in writing. They do have a month or so to get it checked out. But if they don't act in a timely matter, she can file a complaint. It's not uncommon to take 3-6 months to get miss reported credit problems corrected.
